Selbst Dodges a Bullet

Vanessa Selbst continued her aggressive play, opening from middle position with {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds}. Anne Heft, who had played one hand to this point announced a small re-raise from the button with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. Selbst made the call, and the flop came {3-Hearts}{K-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Heft led out for 100,000 on the flop, and it made a believer out of Selbst, who laid her Jacks down.

Julie Dang 9th Place

As expected, super short stack Julie Dang was the first to leave us today, and the hand was an interesting one. Dang moved all in from early postion with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}, and Katja re-raised with {a-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. Kathleen Gliva woke up with {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} in the Big blind, and had a decision on her hands. After having her head in her hands for about a minute, Gliva laid the hand down. The board came {2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{a-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}, and Dang was our 9th place finisher. Julie won $14,628 for her troubles.
