Credit Where Credit is Due

Perhaps Ted Forrest's recent run can be attributed more to his girlfriend than to himself. Since just about the time he began his push towards the top, Forrest has been munching on a plate of noodles with chili sauce in between hands.

We asked him where he got them. "My girlfriend brought them to me," he said. "I'm a lucky guy."

The noodles look delicious, incidentally.

Here He Comes

Ted Forrest is on a roll. After being down to 240,000 just an hour ago, Forrest has been dragging in pots with regularity and has moved back up to the chip lead with approximately 700,000.

In his latest win, he was again tangling with fellow big stack Andrew Brown. The board showed {K-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}, and Forrest scooped it up with his {J-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}, a king-high flush.

Clements Falling Down

Jim Pechac opens the action with a raise, and Scott Clements makes the call from the blind.

The flop comes out {10-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {8-Hearts}. Clements checks, Pechac bets, and Clements calls.

The turn is the {K-Spades}. This time, Clements bets out, and Pechac flat calls.

Fifth street is the {Q-Diamonds}, and both players check.

Pechac sheepishly flips over his cards, not expecting much. Much to his surprise though, the {A-Spades} {2-Spades} {4-Spades} {8-Diamonds} is enough to win him the pot with a pair of eights. Clements is reeling, having been knocked all the way down to 120,000.

Forrest Turns it Around

Ted Forrest has lost or chopped several pots in a row now, and he seems to be getting a bit frustrated of late. In the latest pot he got involved with Ralph Perry, looking to turn things around. Perry comes in raising, and Forrest joins him, as the two men go heads up to the flop.

It brings {K-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}. Forrest leads out with a bet, Perry raises, and Forrest makes the call.

The turn is the {9-Hearts}. Forrest again fires a bet, and once again Perry raises and Forrest makes the call.

The river comes the {8-Diamonds}, and both players check.

Forrest shows the winner: {K-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {10-Hearts}, winning the pot with his straight, and chipping back up to 540,000.

Forrest in Disbelief

Jim Pechac comes in raising, and Ted Forrest makes the call from the button. The flop brings {J-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}. Pechac bets out, Forrest raises, and Pechac calls.

The turn is the {5-Hearts}, and Pechac bets and gets called all in for his last 13,000.

The river is the {6-Spades}, and the hands are turned over. Pechac turns over {A-Spades} {J-Spades} {2-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}. Forrest manages an, "Are you serious?" as he tables {A-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {4-Hearts}, having chopped both halves of the pot on the river.

Chip Leaders Tangling

Preflop, Andrew Brown opens for a raise, and Ted Forrest and Kia Hooshmand each call from the blinds.

The flop came down {5-Hearts} {4-Spades} {7-Hearts}. Action checks around to Brown. He bets, and Forrest is the only one who stays in.

Fourth street comes the {Q-Hearts}, and both players check.

The river is the {K-Clubs}. Forrest bets out, and Brown makes the call. Brown announces his hand, "Kings up with an ace-three," as he shows down {K-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {A-Spades} {3-Diamonds}.

Forrest can't believe it. "F*ck, really?!" he asks, as he tosses his cards in face-down. After the hand, Forrest is down to 400,000, while Brown has retaken the lead at 515,000.

Internet Difficulties

Again, we have to apologize for the lack of recent updates. The internet here in the tournament room is apparently starting to succumb to the heavy traffic load from all these reporters. It has been very spotty over the last two hours, and we can only hope that it will sort itself out soon. In the meantime, please bear with us.

Allan Enciso Eliminated in 8th Place ($28,684)

Allan Enciso Eliminated
Allan Enciso Eliminated
Allan Enciso got all his chips into the pot preflop against Ted Forrest and Scott Clements. The board showed {Q-Hearts} {2-Spades} {3-Spades} {8-Spades} {K-Diamonds}. When the betting was complete, the hands were shown down:

Clements: {A-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {J-Spades}
Forrest: {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}

Enciso failed to catch either half of the pot, and slid his cards into the muck as he headed for the door. First though, he'll head to the cashier to collect his check for $28,684.
