The Mouth Strikes Again

Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow
Erick Lindgren raised to 45,000 from under the gun. Barry Greenstein folded and Jeffrey Lisandro made the call from the button. Mike Matusow called from the small blind as did Tom Schneider from the big blind.

There were four players to the draw. Matusow took one card and Schneider took two. Lindgren stood pat and Lisandro opted for one. Matusow was first to act and he slid out a leg of pink chips worth 100,000. One by one, each of his opponents folded. As Matusow awkwardly clung to his cards, Schneider said, "show it, Mikey!" Matusow replied "You guys know I made it." About ten seconds later, just as he mucked he quipped "...maybe."

Greenstein's Joke

Erick Lindgren raised to 50,000 from the small blind and Barry Greenstein, who has shown this afternoon that he seems to be the one in the mood to gamble the most, called from the big blind. Lindgren discarded one card, while Greenstein threw away two.

Both players checked after the flop. Greenstein turned over a jack-ten of all black cards to take down the pot. "Oh, they're all clubs!" he said with a smile, referring to Mike Matusow's gaffe last night when he didn't realize he held a club flush. The table roared at the joke, and even Matusow couldn't supress a smile.

Greenstein Stays Active

Barry Greenstein Stays Active
Barry Greenstein has stayed actively involved in the last few hands as well.

In the last of these, Jeffrey Lisandro raised to 52,000 from under the gun and Greenstein made the call from the big blind. Lisandro drew one while Greenstein took two cards. Greenstein checked, presumably trying to induce a bet from Lisandro, but he checked behind. Greenstein flipped up {8-?} {6-?} {5-?} {3-?} {2-?}. A surprised Lisandro tossed his hand in right away.

A few hands prior, after just having tangled, Barry put in a raise to 48,000 from under the gun only to have Mike Matusow move all in from the cutoff seat. Greenstein gave his hand up right away.

Greenstein Chips Up

The action has been a bit tighter since play resumed after the break. Several hands were won uncontested or with a single bet after the draw. All that changed when Barry Greenstein and Mike Matusow mixed it up.

Matusow raised to 46,000 from under the gun. Greenstein, in the small blind, reraised to 150,000. Matusow made the call without much deliberation. On the draw, Greenstein stood pat and Matusow drew one. Once the draw was completed, Greenstein bet 100,000.

Matusow squeezed out his card, then went into the tank. He thought for about a minute before giving up the ghost and mucking his hand.

Greenstein Pushes Back

On the last hand before the break, Erick Lindgren raised to 40,000. After thinking it over for 30 seconds, Barry Greenstein moved all in for about 500,000. Lindgren let loose a "Mother..." as the action folded back to him. He eyed Greenstein's stack a few times before reluctantly giving up his hand.

Mike Matusow Stays Active

Erick Lindgren raised to 45,000 from under the gun. Action folded around to Jeff Lisandro on the button and he called. Mike Matusow called from the small blind as well. Each player took a single card. Matusow was first to act and he bet 70,000, which prompted a quick fold from both of his opponents. The instant the last card hit the muck, Matusow loudly groaned and sarcastically said "I finally tried to steal a pot and you guys let me get away with it." Matusow flipped up {7-?} {6-?} {4-?} {3-?} {2-?} as he stacked the pot.
