Hand #53 - Filtz

Justin time
Justin time
Seth Fischer folds, Justin Filtz calls from the small blind; Dario Minieri, armed with his newly acquired stack, makes it an additional 72,000 to go.

Filtz reaches for chips, but hesitates, his eyes remaining fixed on his stack as he thinks. Finally, he makes the call.

{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

Filtz checks, leading to a continuation bet of 140,000 from Minieri. Filtz pauses for a second time, and glances over at his Italian foe suspiciously. Again he reaches for chips.

All-in!...

... for 626,000!

And an insta-call from Minieri!

Filtz = {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Minieri = {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

Filtz remains stoical...

Turn = {9-Hearts}

The Minierites on the rail call for a jack...

River = {K-Clubs}

Justin doubles up and could become a big threat to Minieri's stranglehold on this final table.

Hand #51 - Minieri

All three players see a {2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop.

Dario Minieri leads out for 48,000 and wins the pot, Justin Filtz showing glimpses of frustrations as he chucks away his cards.

Hand #50 - Kevin Song Eliminated in Fourth Place ($141,983)

Song makes it 75,000 from the button, and in an interesting change to the recent action, Minieri makes it 155,000 from the big blind. To which Song responds by announcing all in for a total of 642,000! The spell of the blind-stealing has been broken, it seems.

The decision now rests with Minieri, who takes his time. And then...

Call!

Minieri: {A-Diamonds} {8-Hearts}
Song: {K-Clubs} {J-Hearts}

Board: {2-Clubs} {9-Spades} {5-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {A-Clubs}

And to the sound of the Italian railers sharing their joy with one another, Kevin Song is eliminated, and Dario Minieri extends his already crushing chip lead.

Hand #47 - Minieri

With Filtz and Minieri calling from the button and small blind respectively, Fischer checks the big blind to give us a three-way pot.

{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Minieri takes it down with a bet of 48,000.

Hand #46 - Filtz

Filtz limps in from the small blind, and Dario makes a rather unusual check.

{6-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} -- check,check.

{9-Spades} -- check, check -- a pattern is emerging.

{3-Hearts} -- once more, they both check.

Filtz shows K-10 and Dario just mucks.

The Tension Rises

As you can see from the hands reported, we're struggling for action, even Dario Minieri is willing to play hands less aggressively than usual. Perhaps it's the prospect of a shiny gold bracelet, maybe it's the money, or could it be mere fatigue, but whatever it is, the remaining four seem to have slowed down the pace and adopted a more cautious approach.

Meanwhile, there is very little in the way of table talk or banter to report, which is odd considering the laughs that were had yesterday.
