Bob Beveridge is a former professional football player in the Canadian Football League. He is a hometown football coach from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and is making his first WSOP final table appearance.
Chris "Jesus" Ferguson needs little introduction. The 2000 Champion of the WSOP Main Event, Ferguson is looking to add bracelet number six to his collection. This marks his fourth cash at this year's WSOP and his second final table. We all know Chris enjoys swing dancing, and he hopes he can dance his way through the tough field to claim victory.
Our chip leader for today's final table comes from Hamburg, Germany. This is Sebastian Ruthenberg's second cash at the 2008 WSOP. He made the money earlier in the six-handed event. With a few European cashes while traveling the EPT circuit, Ruthenberg is looking to take his chip lead all the way to the gold bracelet.
Alessio Isaia comes in today after making a late charge in the early hours of the morning to go from the short stack to third in chips. Isaia is a professional player from Italy and no stranger to the felt. Mainly a European player, Isaia is making his first WSOP cash and final table. This twenty-two year old is hoping to become the third Italian to win a gold bracelet this year.
Annie Duke is perhaps the most recognized and respected American female poker player. A mother of four children, Annie learned to play poker and games of all sorts at a young age. Her father and brother were her tutors, and she took their lessons and built her own winning strategy. Annie has more than 30 cashes in the WSOP and she owns one gold bracelet. Her largest single cash came in the 2004 Tournament of Champions, when she won the title and pocked a cool $2,000,000. Annie begins play with 277,000 chips.
Steve Sung is a native of Torrance, CA. Before he found poker, he was a burger flipper at the In-N-Out. Last year, he made his debut at the WSOP and tallied two in-the-money finishes. He has already cashed once this year as well, taking 14th in the $10,000 World Championship Limit Hold'em Event. Sung begins play with 207,000 chips.
Marcel Luske is the well-dressed, well-spoken pro from Amsterdam, Netherlands. Known for his classic style, his trademark sunglasses, and his musical prowess at the table, "The Flying Dutchman" is among the most respected tournament players the world over. Luske already has one final table in this WSOP, coming in the HORSE event earlier this month. He is still hunting for his first bracelet though, and he will take a shot at it today. Luske starts with 308,000 chips.
Bob Lauria is a native of West Haven, CT. Lauria started playing poker at a young age, and he is one of today's up and comers. This is his third WSOP, and his first final table. He has racked up seven career cashes, including a payday in the 2006 Main Event. He begins the day on the short stack with 40,400 chips.
