Day 3 Completed

Hand #166-- Jesper Hougaard Wins the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'Em Tournament

Jesper Hougaard
Jesper Hougaard
Cody raised to 150,000 and Jesper reraised to 500,000. Cody thought a good bit before reraising to 1.3 million. Jesper counted out his chips before moving all in...and Cody made the call.

He held {A-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} to Jesper's {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} and the crowd pressed close to the table to see the action. Jesper had Cody covered by a spare 25,000 chip.

The flop came {Q-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} to give Jesper a set and send he and his friends jumping up and down in wild jubilation. The {5-Hearts} on the turn sealed the deal for Hougaard and left Slaubaugh drawing dead, the {A-Hearts} on the river a cruel reminder of that.

Cody Slaubaugh stormed back from a 7.5-to-1 chip deficit to seize control of the heads up play early on, but after dominating for so much of the day Jesper Hoagaard battled back and won the decisive hand with the slimmest of leads. Cody Slaubaugh wins $389,128 as today's runner up and Jesper Hoagaard and his extremely enthusiastic band of supporters are celebrating his winning the $610,304 prize and, of course, his first World Series of Poker bracelet.

Hand #165-- Slaubaugh

Jesper raised to 160,000 and Cody called. The flop came {8-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {5-Spades}, both checked, the {9-Spades} turned, Cody bet 225,000 and Jesper called.

The {K-Hearts} fell on the river, Cody checked, Jesper checked, and he couldn't beat Cody's A-4.

Hand #163-- Hougaard

Jesper limped on the button and Cody checked. The flop came {8-Spades} {6-Spades} {7-Diamonds}, Cody checked, Jesper bet 65,000 and Cody raised to 200,000. Jesper called, and the turn brought the {7-Spades}. Cody checked, Jesper did the same, and the {10-Diamonds} fell on the river. Both players checked and Jesper showed 6-4 for two pair to take the pot.

Hand #159-- Hougaard

Jesper limped on the button and Cody checked. The flop came {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} {A-Spades}, Cody checked and Jesper bet 65,000. Cody raised to 170,000 and Jesper called.

The turn brought the {Q-Hearts}, both players checked, the {7-Clubs} came on the river and after Cody checked Jesper bet 225,000. Cody called, and Jesper showed A-3 (and pointed to himself as his fans cheered) to take down the pot.

Hand #158-- Slaubaugh

Cody raised to 150,000 and Jesper called. The flop came {Q-Clubs} {10-Spades} {A-Spades}, Hougaard bet 200,000 and Slaubaugh called. The turn brought the {8-Spades}, both players checked, and the {6-Spades} fell on the river. Jesper checked and Cody bet 280,000. Jesper did some fancy chip-tricks before counting out enough for a call. And Cody's {K-Clubs} {7-Spades} made a big enough flush to take down the pot.
