Sixty-Six Cashes Don't Buy Pots

Tim D'Alessandro just took a pot off of the man who informed the floor that he holds the record for most cashes in the WSOP -- Phil Hellmuth. D'Alessandro brought it in with the {4-Hearts}, then called along with Greg Pappas when Hellmuth completed the {J-Hearts}. Pappas folded to Hellmuth's bet on fourth after Hellmuth caught the {3-Hearts}, but D'Alessandro, who caught the {7-Spades}, called.

Hellmuth, with the {5-Clubs}, checked to D'Alessandro's {3-Spades} on fifth street. D'Alessandro bet and Hellmuth called. D'Alessandro made the best board on sixth when he caught the {K-Spades} to Hellmuth's {8-Clubs}. Again he bet, and again Hellmuth called. The same thing happened on the river.

D'Alessandro showed {8-Spades} {5-Spades} {10-Clubs} in the hole for a spade flush for high, and 8-7 for low. Hellmuth never opened his hand. It was a "sweeper" for D'Alessandro, at Hellmuth's considerable expense.

After the hand, D'Alessandro increased his stack to 48,000, while Hellmuth slipped to 18,000.
