Joe Bishop Wins a 5 Million Pot

Joe Bishop raised to 330,000 and Peter Eastgate called. The flop was {A-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {2-Clubs}. Bishop bet 375,000, Eastgate raised to 1,000,000 and Bishop called. Bishop checked in the dark before the {4-Hearts} came down. Eastgate bet 1.4 million and Bishop called. The river was the {10-Diamonds}. Bishop checked, and Eastgate checked behind.

Bishop showed {5-Clubs} {6-Clubs} for only a pair of fives, Eastgate mucked and Bishop took it down, running out to his friends in the crowd and giving high fives.

"That's a super call" he said.

Bishop is up to about 11.1 million while Eastgate has fallen to 6.5 million.

Dean Hamrick Doubles Through Brandon Cantu

Mr. 10-5 Himself
Mr. 10-5 Himself
Kelly Kim opened for 275,000, Brandon Cantu reraised to 950,000, and Dean Hamrick moved all in. The crowd let out an "Ooooooooooh!" and got on their feet as the action came back to Kim. Kim let his hand go and it was Cantu's turn to tank. Cantu thought for well over five minutes (Tim Loecke getting knocked out in the meantime) before saying "I call."

Cantu {10-Spades} {5-Clubs}

Hamrick {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs}

There was mass disbelief and gasps from the crowd as Cantu rolled over his hand.

The flop was {8-Spades} {7-Clubs} {5-Hearts} and Cantu flopped a pair of fives. The turn was the {8-Diamonds}, a bad card for Cantu as Hamrick made aces up. Cantu paced in back of the table looking resigned to his fate as his entourage called for a five. The river, though was the {10-Diamonds} and Cantu made two pair, but it was no matter-- Hamrick's aces and eights were best and he raked in the massive pot.

Cantu was down to 2.4 million after the hand while Hamrick was up to 5.5 million. Cantu is now the tournament's shortest stack.

Tim Loecke Eliminated in 23rd Place ($257,334)

Tim Loecke - 23rd Place
Tim Loecke - 23rd Place
From under the gun Scott Montgomery raised to 300,000 and Tim Loecke moved all in for his last 525,000. Ylon Schwartz called from the button and Montgomery called as well.

The flop came {10-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {A-Hearts} and Scott and Ylon both checked, and when the {3-Hearts} came on the turn and Montgomery checked, Schwartz bet 600,000. That chased Scott out, and Schwartz turned over his {3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} for the set. That had Loecke's pocket sixes beat, and when the {4-Hearts} came on the river Tim Loecke was eliminated.

Riesenberg Recovering Chips

Jason Riesenberg
Jason Riesenberg
Dennis Phillips limped from early position and then called the 325,000 chip raise from Jason Riesenberg.

They saw a flop of {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Phillips checked to Riesenberg, who fired 325,000. It was enough to win the hand, as Riesenberg takes down a rare pot today to recover some chips and move to 3.6 million.

Very Interesting...?

Tiffany Michelle raised to 300,000 from under the gun and Craig Marquis called on the button. They both checked the {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {5-Spades} flop as well as the {A-Hearts} on the turn, but when the {8-Diamonds} came on the river Michelle checked and Marquis bet 200,000. Tiffany then check-raised to 500,000 and that set Marquis to thinking.

"That's interesting..." he said, and after awhile Tiffany said, "What do you have? It's not that hard, buddy."

Marquis chose to fold, and Tiffany scooped up the pot.

Working Up an Appetite

We're only about 2 hours into play today but Tiffany Michelle had a big platter of food delivered to the table. She's munching away on chicken and french fries as she plays at the feature table next to the Milwaukee's Light lounge.

Ivan Demidov Wins a Huge Pot from Peter Eastgate

Ivan Demidov
Ivan Demidov
Peter Eastgate opened for 300,000 (for the third time in the last four hands) and Ivan Demidov made the call from the small blind. The flop was {A-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {2-Spades}. Demidov checked, Eastgate bet 450,000, and Demidov called. The turn was the {10-Clubs} and both players checked. The river was the {2-Clubs}. Demidov considered carefully before leading out for 650,000 and Eastgate went into the tank for two minutes before putting in a raise to 1.9 million. Ultimately, Demidov made the call.

Eastgate's {9-Spades} {10-Spades} couldn't beat Demidov's {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} and Demidov raked in the monster pot. Eastgate is down to 8.75 million while Demidov now sits on 7.77 million.

Toni Judet Doubles

Toni Judet
Toni Judet
Toni Judet attempted to raise from under the gun, but his bet was deemed a string raise and he was held to only a call. Nicholas Sliwinski made the call before Albert Kim raised it up to 800,000. Judet then moved all in for 2 million in total. Sliwinski got out of the way and Kim made the call.

Judet: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}
Kim: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Kim couldn't find the suckout. Judet doubles up to 4.3 million, leaving Kim with only around 3 million.
