The Flying Dutchman Avoids a Crash Landing

Marcel Luske, The Flying Dutchman
Marcel Luske, The Flying Dutchman
A player in early position opened the action with a raise to 900. Two players, including Marcel Luske, called before the action came back around to the big blind. He put in a small reraise to 1,600, and all three opponents came along to the flop.

It brought {7-Spades} {6-Spades} {2-Spades}. Action checked to Luske, and he moved all in for his last 3,825. Only the original raiser made the call, putting The Flying Dutchman at risk of being knocked out. With the betting complete, the caller turned over {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs}, and Luske confidently tabled {6-Diamonds} {6-Hearts}. His set of sixes was in the lead, but he still had to fade a queen and a bunch of spades with two cards to come.

The turn took away all those spade outs; the {2-Hearts} made Luske a full house and kept him alive barring a two-outer on the river. The {8-Diamonds} locked it up for the good-natured Dutchman, more than tripling him up to 17,000.
