Ship the Chips to Micon

Razz:

Micon: x-x / 5-3-9-4 / X
Malcolm: x-x / A-3-10-9 / x

The game was still razz when we came back from the break. In a battle of the BMs, Bryan Micon and Brian Malcolm tangled, with Micon betting every street including the river. Malcolm called the whole way, then mucked his hand when Micon showed 10-7-2 in the hole for 7-5-4-3-2. Technically speaking, Malcolm wasn't board-locked on the river, but Micon must have felt very comfortable with his hand.

Break Time

We played a few hands of razz before the break. None went past fourth street. The players are now racking up their chips to move to the secondary feature table. We're on a break.

Programming Note

The next break will be extended to allow the final table to be moved from the Green Section of the Amazon Room to the secondary feature table. Perhaps being under the spotlight will bring some action back -- the last three hands of Omaha Hi/Lo have been checked on multiple streets.

Flop Games Bring the Betting Back

Hold'em:

A little more action now that we're back to the flop games. First Mitch Schock tried to check-raise Brian Malcolm on a board of {2-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {6-Hearts}, only to see Malcolm three-bet. Schock called, then folded the turn to another bet.

The next hand, James Van Alstyne called all the way down in a raised pot against Shannon Shorr. Shorr bet every street in position on a board of {10-Spades} {9-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {9-Clubs}, turning over {K-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} at showdown to take the pot with two pair, tens and nines.

Small Pot for Shorr

Stud Hi/Lo:

Shorr: x-x / {A-Spades} {7-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} / x
Malcolm: x-x / {2-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} / x

Shannon Shorr has been very quiet for the last hour or so, patiently waiting for his spots. He found one in a stud hi/lo hand against Brian Malcolm.

Shorr completed third street and was called only by Malcolm. Shorr fired again on fourth, checked fifth (Malcolm checked behind) and then fired again on sixth street. Malcolm stayed with Shorr the whole way.

Down the river, both players checked. Shorr opened {3-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {2-Spades} in the hole for two pair, aces and deuces. Malcolm claimed a big draw that completely missed before mucking.

Fabrice Soulier Eliminated in 7th Place ($31,657)

Fabrice Soulier - 7th Place
Fabrice Soulier - 7th Place
Razz:

Soulier: 5-7 / 3-A-9-5 / ?
Schock: A-5 / 3-6-2-Q / 9

On his final hand, Fabrice Soulier did everything right except catch the cards he needed and fade the one's his opponent needed. Soulier completed a 3, then watched as Brian Malcolm raised and Mitch Schock called two cold. Soulier also called.

Action checked to Schock on fourth street. His bet was check-raised by Soulier, driving Malcolm out of the pot. With him gone, Schock and Soulier capped out the betting until Soulier was all in. Schock immediately made a 6-5 on fifth street, leaving Soulier more or less dead. He was gone once all the cards were out.

Soulier walks away with $31,657.

Ron "Schifty" Schiffman Eliminated in 8th Place ($26,780)

Omaha Hi/Lo:

Brian Malcolm raised preflop and Ron "Schifty" Schiffman called from the big blind. The flop came down {K-Spades} {6-Spades} {4-Diamonds}. Schiffman bet and Malcolm called.

The turn produced the {8-Spades} and Schiffman bet again. Malcolm raised and then Schiffman called.

The river was the {Q-Clubs} and Schiffman check-called all in. Malcolm showed {A-Spades} {4-Spades} {4-Clubs} {3-Hearts} for the nut flush and the second nut low to scoop the pot and eliminate Schiffman who mucked his hand.
