Brummelhuis Drops

Also not havign a great time of it is Michiel Brummelhuis. He raised under the gun and called the reraise from Soheil Shamseddin, and proceeded to check-call the {5-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {6-Spades} flop and {8-Hearts} turn. Brummelhuis bet out on the {8-Clubs} river, but Shamseddin called, and Brummelhuis' {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} was crushed by Shamseddin's {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}.

Brummelhuis: down to 325,000
Shamseddin: up to 800,000

Kenny Do It?

...And no sooner than Brown had dipped down into the danger zone than Kenny Hsuing overtook him, or undertook, as the case may be, to take his place as our official short stack.

He called a button raise in the big blind from Soheil Shamseddin and made it as far as the river of the {K-Clubs} {4-Spades} {5-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} board before folding. He dropped to a mere 235,000, while Shamseddin is sitting pretty on 620,000.

----

Shortly afterwards, Hsuing got involved in a blind on blind confrontation with Greg Mueller. He raised pre from the small blind and bet out on the {9-Clubs} {5-Spades} {K-Diamonds} flop; Mueller called. They both checked the {8-Diamonds} turn and Hsuing tried another bet on the {K-Hearts} river, but Mueller insta-called and tabled {7-Hearts} {8-Clubs} to beat Hsuing's {A-Spades} {5-Clubs}. Hsuing down to just 120,000 now. Eek.

Brown Going Down...

Alaei - in the lead
Alaei - in the lead
Further fine fortune for Daniel Alaei who is up to 1.2 millio in chips, while Chad Brown sinks to last place on 330,000.

Alaei raise from the cutoff and Brown called him on the button. Alaei bet out on the {Q-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} flop and Brown called; Alaei then check-called the {9-Diamonds} turn and {5-Hearts} river, and at the end of it discovered that his pocket {4-Clubs} {4-Spades} were good against Brown's {J-?} {10-Diamonds} to take the pot.

Glantz-ular Problem

Further woe for very brief former chip leader Matt Glantz. He raised and called a reraise from Greg Mueller and made it all the way to the river of the {10-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {7-Clubs} board before mucking to Mueller's pocket {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds}.

Glantz: 480,000
Mueller: 680,000

Alaei A-Leads

Daniel Alaei has extended his chip lead to 1,160,000 courtesy of Soheil Shamseddin. Something for everyone on the {2-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {10-Spades} {8-Spades} board, but Shamseddin was behind all the way with {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs} and Alaei took it down with {A-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}.

Shamseddin is on 420,000.

Hsuing Low

Blind on blind, Matt Glantz raised and Kenny Hsuing called.

Flop: {J-Spades} {K-Hearts} {3-Hearts}

Glantz bet out only for Hsuing to raise; a Glantz-ing reraise and a Hsuing-ing call.

Glantz bet out on the {5-Spades} turn and {4-Spades} river and Hsuing called both times, but mucked when Glantz flipped {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}.

Glantz: 750,000
Hsuing: 300,000

Shamseddin Vs. Hawrilenko

Greg Mueller raised, but quickly gave it up preflop to a reraise from Matt Hawrilenko behind and a four-bet from Soheil Shamseddin in the big blind.

Shamseddin bet every street of the {10-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {8-Spades} {J-Clubs} board and eventually Hawrilenko folded on the river, leaving himself on 730,000.

-----

Shamseddin lost some of those good chips back the very next hand though.

He reraised from the small blind to a raise from Hawrilenko, and then bet out on the {K-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {3-Spades} flop. Hawrilenko called. He bet out again on the {8-Hearts} turn and this time Hawrilenko raised. A call, and they moved on to the {Q-Diamonds} river. Shamseddin check-called the bet from Hawrilenko, but mucked when Hawrilenko showed him {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}.

Hawrilenko is up to 900,000, while Shamseddin is back down to 550,000.

Alaei's a Millionaire

Daniel Alaei limped in on the small blind and called a raise from Chad Brown in the big; they saw a {2-Spades} {A-Spades} {6-Clubs} flop.

Alaei checked and then called a bet from Brown. Caginess took over thereafter though, and they checked down the {4-Hearts} turn and {9-Clubs} river. Alaei turned over {K-Diamonds} {4-Spades} and this turned out to be good, as Brown mucked and was down to 625,000. Alaei meanwhile remains over the magic million mark, on 1,050,000.

Glantz Going Down

Matt Glantz is back down to 640,000 after seeing several hands in a row all the way to the river, only to fold or muck at the final hurdle.

One such hand saw him raise in position and get a call from Matt Hawrilenko in the small blind. Hawrilenko bet out on every street of the {K-Spades} {8-Spades} {J-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {10-Spades} board and Glantz called both flop and turn, but come the river he gave it some considerable thought and folded instead.

Next hand Soheil Shamseddin raised in early position and Glantz reraised behind. Shamseddin re-popped though, and Glantz called.

Shamseddin bet all the way down the {4-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {J-Spades} board and Glantz called on every street -- but Shamseddin tabled {A-Clubs} {A-Spades} and Glantz just mucked. Shamseddin is up to 600,000 after that, incidentally.
