...And Back Down Again

Brummelhuis dropped back down to 475,000 the very next hand, though -- he got all the way down to the bottom of the {2-Spades} {5-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} board, but mucked to Greg Mueller's {9-Spades} {10-Spades}.

Mueller up to 870,000.

Brummelhuis Pummels Brown

Michiel Brummelhuis is in much better shape now after getting involved with chip leader Chad Brown and coming out firmly on top, to the drunken delight of the Dutch element at the rail.

Brummelhuis in the big blind called a raise from Chad Brown and then check-raised him on the {J-Clubs} {A-Spades} {10-Clubs} flop. Brown called, and he called when Brummelhuis bet out on the {2-Diamonds} turn as well. The bet from Brummelhuis on the {2-Spades} river proved too much for Brown, though -- he passed and Brummlehuis took down the pot, to not inconsiderable cheering and waving around of Dutch beer glasses.

Brummelhuis: 600,000
Brown: still chip leader on 1,400,000

Soheil Shamseddin Busts in 8th Place ($59,996)

So long, Soheil
So long, Soheil
And obviously just as I'd posted that, Soheil Shamseddin busted out in 8th place.

He raised from the button and only slightly less short stack Matt Glantz reraised out of the small blind. He called.

Flop: {2-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades}

Glantz bet, and Shamseddin called.

Turn: {J-Diamonds}

Glantz bet again and this time Shamseddin raised all in. A call, and a showdown for Shamseddin's tournament life.

Shamseddin: {A-Diamonds} {3-Hearts}
Glantz: {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}

River: an incredibly decisive {9-Diamonds} to give Glantz a full house and Shamseddin a ticket out of the tournament.

It's All Gone a Bit Slow

Play has tightened up a little, with all our players resolutely refusing to gamble. With the and the big money approaching, nobody, not even Soheil Shamseddin, wants to try their luck any more than is strictly necessary.

Nevertheless, those blinds are going relentlessly up...

How Many Chips Do They Have?

It's not obvious, with all these crazy double ups and so on.

Seat 2 Matt Hawrilenko 820,000
Seat 3 Michiel Brummelhuis 450,000
Seat 4 Pat Pezzin 880,000
Seat 5 Daniel Alaei 660,000
Seat 6 Chad Brown 1,400,000
Seat 7 Soheil Shamseddin 300,000
Seat 8 Matt Glantz 530,000
Seat 9 Greg Mueller 650,000

Just One More

Soheil Shamseddin called a raise from Pat Pezzin and then got his last in on the flop.

Shamseddin: {9-Hearts} {7-Hearts}
Pezzin: {A-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}

Shamseddin: "One time!"

Matt Glantz: "You're giving me a headache with the one-time."

Board: {9-Spades} {4-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}

Double up to 255,000.

Seriously, we're going to be here all night.
