Arieh Collects With The River Check-Raise Bluff

Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh
While this final table has so far moved along rather cautiously, Josh Arieh just announced to the table that he is ready to kick things up a gear!

The action folded around to Ferit Gabriellson who opened with a raise to 60,000 from the cutoff. Barry Greenstein defended in the small blind as did Arieh in the big blind.

They saw a flop of {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} and play checked to Gabriellson who fired a continuation bet of 100,000. Greenstein quickly folded as Arieh eyed down his opponent before tossing out calling chips.

The {J-Diamonds} hit the turn and Arieh checked to Gabriellson who decided to slow down and check behind. The river was the {4-Spades} and Arieh checked once again to Gabriellson who this time fired out 150,000. Arieh thought for a few moments before declaring a raise of an additional 300,000. The check-raise sent Gabriellson into the tank for a long time before he finally gave it up.

Arieh then proudly flashed {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for a straight draw that ended with nothing but imagination as Gabriellson shook his head in disgust. The first significant blow of this final table goes the way of Arieh.
