Monnette Makes Ten

John Monnette raised from middle position, and Gavin Smith three-bet it on the button. Monnette called and took two cards while Smith needed just one.

When Monnette checked, Smith put out a bet and was called. This time both men took a single card and Monnette opted to lead out at the pot. Smith was the caller this time, and he would take one more card. Monnette stood pat and checked, and Smith checked behind.

Monnette turned over T-9-6-5-3, and Smith couldn't show anything better than that.
