Ahmadian Put to the Test

Tough decision, but Ahmadian made the right move
Tough decision, but Ahmadian made the right move
In the last hand before the break, Matt Gianetti raised to 2,100 in preflop action and Elia Ahmadian called. The big blind called as well. The three players took a flop of {9-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {2-Spades} and everyone checked.

The turn brought the {10-Hearts}. Action checked to Ahmadian and he bet out 3,800. The big blind folded and then Gianetti called.

The river produced the {K-Clubs} and Gianetti checked again. Ahmadian fired a bet of 6,000. Gianetti took his time and then put in a raise to 17,500. Ahmadian had exactly 22,500 left and looked pained. He tanked for a few minutes into the break. "This is so sick, so sick!" he complained. "There's just too much out there."

Finally, Ahmadian tossed in the call. "Ace high," announced Gianetti.

"What?" questioned Ahmadian.

"Ace high," Gianetti said again, tabling {A-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}.

Ahmadian turned up {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} for a pair of kings and the winning hand to put him back up to 55,900.
