Dan Heimiller Eliminated in 9th Place ($38,676)

Dan Heimiller, 9th place
Dan Heimiller, 9th place

Dan Heimiller was the bring-in with the {3-Hearts} and he called the completion from Men Nguyen showing the {A-Spades}. Nguyen led the betting on fourth before Heimiller announced a raise on fifth. Nguyen made the call and then paired his ace on sixth. He bet out to put Heimiller to a decision for his last 28,000. With so much invested in the pot already, Heimiller did some quick math and made the call.

Heimiller: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} / {3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Nguyen: {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} / {A-Spades}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}

The river was dealt Nguyen flipped the {J-Spades} to leave Heimiller drawing to an ace, king or eight to stay alive. He revealed the {4-Clubs} which was no help to be eliminated from the tournament in 9th place for $38,676 in prize money.

Billirakis Takes Bite Out of Nguyen

Nguyen: (X) (X) / {3-Diamonds} {a-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {k-Diamonds} / (X)
Billirakis: (X) (X) / {10-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {k-Spades} {3-Clubs} / (X)

Steve Billirakis and Men Nguyen went to war in a big pot, with Billirakis coming away victorious at showdown. Nguyen had the betting lead on fifth street and fired a bet into the pot. Billirakis called that bet, then took significantly longer before calling a bet on sixth street.

Down the river, Nguyen still had first action. He slowly squeezed each of his three hole cards in turn before betting. Billirakis also squeezed, and then called.

"Kings," said Nguyen. He didn't open his hand. Billirakis showed {10-Spades} {6-Spades} {2-Diamonds} for two pair, tens and sixes. Nguyen flashed the {Kh] before mucking, allowing Billirakis to claim the pot.

Billirakis is up to about 600,000. Nguyen is down to roughly the same.

Jamshidi Does Broadway

You'd be forgiven for thinking that Sirious Jamshidi was a little steamed after that previous hand when he came out firing fiercely in the next pot. After calling the completion of Michael Mizrachi, Jamshidi fired all the way with Mizrachi making a reluctant call on the river.

Cassidy: (X-X) / {5-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Mizrachi: (X-X-X) / {J-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Jamshidi: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} / {J-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Broadway for Jamshidi was good for the double up to 300,000 as Mizrachi slips to 320,000.

Heimiller Quadruples

Evdakov: {2-Hearts} {9-Clubs} / {9-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {j-Spades} / (X)
Heimiller: {j-Clubs} {k-} / {a-Spades} {a-Hearts} {2-Spades} {j-Hearts} / {q-}
Jamshidi: (X) (X) / {a-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} FOLD

Almost all of the table -- minus Dan Heimiller -- is a little bit steamed after an odd play by Nikolay Evdakov. Evdakov completed third street. Heimiller moved all in for less than a full raise, getting a call from Sirious Jamshidi and Evdakov.

Jamshidi and Evdakov both checked fourth street. Heimiller caught open aces. "That seems fair to me," he said.

On fifth street, Jamshidi cecked and then folded to a bet from Evdakov. Evdakov opened just a single pair of nines.

"What is this guy doing?" Jamshidi asked. "What sort of play is that?"

Heimiller caught two pair, aces and jacks on sixth street. Evdakov did not overtake him on the river, allowing Heimiller to triple up.

"No one's happy about that," said Michael Mizrachi.

Jamshidi took up his case directly with Evdakov. "I'm in the hand so it's two against one, not to play against you," he said. "I wouldn't have bet the entire time."

A happy Heimiller grinned at Jamshidi and joked, "Collusion!"

Heimiller now has 114,000.
