"Sammy! Sammy!"

James Dempsey's railbirds seem quite fond of Sammy Farha, as long as he's not in a pot against Dempsey. Farha tangled with Richard Zhu in the last pot, with Dempsey sitting out. By the time they got to the river, several bets were in the pot. Farha fired out 160,000 on a board of {7-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {5-Spades} [jd {8-Clubs}. Zhu called but couldn't beat {a-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {7-Hearts} {8-Hearts}, two pair eights and sevens and the nut low.

Dempsey's railbirds were overjoyed. So was Farha. Perhaps not surprisingly, Zhu was not

Farha Lays Down to Dempsey

Sammy Farha checked the flop of {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} and James Dempsey bet. Farha raised and Dempsey called.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Farha checked. Dempsey bet and Farha called.

The river was the {3-Clubs} and Farha checked. Dempsey paused for a second and then bet out. Farha folded and Dempsey's railbirds went nuts.

Tommy Can You Hear Me?

The later the night goes, the drunker the British railbirds supporting James Dempsey get and the rowdier their cheers and chants become.

"Cocktails!" is a common refrain. They're also fond of "He's a doctor!" whenever Flushy wins a pot, though nobody has been able to tell us *why* he's a doctor and what relevance that has to anything. "Sammy give us a wave" is chanted whenever Sam Farha loses a pot to Flushy. There are also various other chants that we can only assume have some special significance if you grew up doing odd things like playing cricket and eating crumpets.

We can't imagine what it would be like to watch England's quadrennial failure in the World Cup with these guys. At least there would be plenty of beer.

Another Scoop and Zhu's Back In It

The swings are big now with limits at 80,000 and 160,000. Two scoops have made a world of difference to Rich Zhu. In his latest pot, he re-raised from the small blind after James Dempsey raised the button. Dempsey called to a paired flop, {7-Spades} {k-Diamonds} {k-Clubs}. Zhu bet and Dempsey called.

The turn {7-Diamonds} double-paired the board. Again Zhu bet and again Dempsey called. Both players checked the {8-Diamonds} river. Zhu tabled {a-Hearts} {k-Spades} {10-Spades} {6-Clubs} at showdown, having flopped three kings with an ace kicker. It was the winner.

Zhu Scoops a Double

Yueqi Zhu
Yueqi Zhu

Yueqi Zhu was all in on the flop of {A-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} with top two pair holding the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. He also had a low draw. He was up against the {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} of James Dempsey, who held top pair, a flush draw and a worse low draw.

The turn filled up Zhu with the {K-Hearts} and then the river completed the board with the {6-Hearts}. Zhu wound up scooping the pot and doubled to over 900,000 after being all in for 475,000.
