It's Good to Be Russian

Evan Shapiro got his chips into the pot preflop on a four-bet shove against Vitaly Lunkin. When the cards were turned up, Shapiro saw that his {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} was racing for double or nothing against the Russian's {K-Spades} {Q-Spades}.

The flop was kind to Shapiro as it came down {9-Spades} {7-Clubs} {J-Hearts} to give him a strong grip on the pot with his set of jacks. Just as quickly as it had come, though, the {10-Clubs} appeared on fourth street, bringing Lunkin into a big lead with his king-high straight. Shapiro needed to fill up or better to stay alive, but the river {5-Hearts} was a blank and a miss.

Shapiro is out just after dinner, and Lunkin is now sitting with 120,000 in front of him.
