Richey Eliminated in an Action Pot

Brett Richey
Brett Richey

Albert Minnullin, Pat Walsh, and Brett Richey each put in the full five bets before the flop, and Michael Reed was in there as well, all in for his last 15,500 chips.

They all went off to a flop of {6-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {3-Spades}, and Albert Minnullin check-folded after some significant action developed behind him. Walsh bet and Richey raised to start if off, then Walsh reraised, and Richey moved all in over the top. With two big pots piled in the middle of the table, and Richey and Reed both at risk against Walsh, the cards were turned up:

Richey: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}
Reed: {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs}
Walsh: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}

Walsh was well out in front with his overpair, two cards away from a double knockout. The turn came the {4-Hearts}, a blank that changed nothing.

The river, though, was the {5-Clubs}, and that filled in the unlikely straight for Reed, giving him the best hand in the end. He wins the main pot to quadruple his way up over 60,000. Walsh takes the side pot with his queens up, and that lives Richey with no pot and with no more chips left in front of him.

He's out.
