Carlson Gets There on the River

Peter Dufek had made a raise to 100,000 from the cutoff and Mick Carlson defended his big blind, making the call.

The flop was {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Carlson check-called a bet of 100,000. Both players checked the {3-Clubs} on the turn. The river was the {k-Clubs} and Carlson made a bet of 250,000. Dufek called, but didn't look happy about it.

If Dufek was unhappy before making the call, he was extremely unhappy afterwards. Carlson showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for a rivered straight and Dufek mucked.

The pot put Carlson up into second place with close to 2,000,000 chips. Dufek, however, has slipped to 1,500,000 and is in third.

Richardson Doubles Through Dolan

All the chips were in the middle preflop when Adam Richardson shoved, getting a call from John Dolan.

Dolan: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Richardson: {10-Clubs}{10-}

Richardson got up and put his bag on, apparently having no faith that his hand would hold up. But when the flop delivered {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, he stayed ahead and eliminated some of Dolan's outs. the {6-Clubs} on the river gave Richardson the flush, and at this point he decided to sit back down.

Richardson is now our chip leader with 2,200,000 while Dolan is down to just 500,000

World Cup Fever

This secondary feature table seems like a soccer stadium right now, the rail birds are singing and we are just missing the vuvuzelas noise.

Let's Go Dolan/Let's Go MickMack!

Some Action on the Table

Peter Dufek opened the pot with a 125,000-chip raise on the button, and Sebastien Roy re-popped it to 260,000 in the small blind. Dufek called the additional 135,000 chips.

The flop ran out {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Roy fired a 180,000-chip bet. Dufek re-popped it to 500,000 and took the pot.

Roy slipped to 1,280,000 and Dufek is now up to 1,960,000 chips.

Under the Gun: The Place to Be

Adam Richardson, Daniel Fuhs, Peter Dufek and Sebastian Roy have all made under the gun raises in the last four hands. In each case the raise has successfully taken down the blinds and antes. Who said position is important?

Shove-O-Matic

Scott Montgomery has been shoving all in a number of times today and recently did so once more for a 300,000 chip pot.

Daniel Fuhs had raised to 125,000 from early position and got a call from John Dolan on the button. Mick Carlson got out of the way and Montgomery went all in for about 700,000. Fuhs thought for a minute or two and folded before Dolan followed suit.

Timothy Beeman Eliminated in 8th Place ($46,985)

Timothy Beeman - 8th Place
Timothy Beeman - 8th Place

Peter Dufek made a raise to 85,000 from middle position but was soon facing an all-in raise of 800,000 from Timothy Beeman on the button. Dufek made the call after thinking for a moment.

Beeman: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Dufek: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The flop missed Beeman altogether when it came {3-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, but he picked up a straight draw and some more outs with the {7-Hearts} on the turn. But the turn came {7-Spades} and Dufek won the pot, sending Beeman to the cage to pick up his cheque.

The win pushed Dufek into second place with 1,850,000 chips.
