Mizzi Pressures Saout
In a hand that lasted a good twenty minutes and didn't even get to see a river card, Sorel Mizzi has won a huge pot against Frenchman and 2009 November Niner Antoine Saout.
Saout started with a raise from middle position to 1,200 with the player in the small blind making the call, before the action was with Mizzi in the big blind. He announced a raise and made it 4,300 to play. Back on Saout and he took his time before putting in a four-bet to 11,100.
The small blind considered a call but decided to release and the action was now back on Mizzi. He also took a moment or two before he decided to put in yet another raise. He five-bet it to 24,800. With thanks to the deep stacks, Saout was able to make the call and see a flop.
The flop landed and Mizzi splashed the pot with 19,500. Saout made the call and a massive pot had developed.
The turn was the and there was no more messing around from Mizzi as he moved all in for Saout's last 55,000 chips. Here's where time stood still for a good eight minutes as Saout thought long and hard about making the call for his tournament life. No one rushed his decision. No one spoke a word. All remained silent as Saout eventually folded and Mizzi was awarded the pot without showdown.
Mizzi is now up to 165,000 with Saout down to 55,000.
