The Lordge-Orgura Battles

Jeremy Lordge opened for 36,000, then Takashi Ogura reraised to 72,000 behind. It folded back around to Lordge. Lordge only had about 110,000 behind, and so had to think about the decision.

Finally he started talking to Ogura. "If I give you five dollars, will you show?" he asked, and the table chucked. At last Lordge folded his {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} face up. "One card," said Ogura of his hand, and Lordge flipped over the {Q-Hearts}. "Ace-queen or king-queen?" asked Lordge as Ogura scooped the chips. "Ace-queen," answered Ogura with a nod.

On the very next hand, Lordge again raised -- this time to 25,000 -- and it folded to Ogura in the big blind who reraised all in. Lordge called with his remaining chips, showing {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. Ogura tabled {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

The board came {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and Lordge doubled back to about 245,000. Ogura has 295,000 now.
