More Chips for Lacay

Trevor Uyesugi raised from the button and made it 130,000 to go. Ludovic Lacay reraised from the small blind to 450,000. Daniel Alaei contemplated his action in the big blind, but folded in the end. Uyesugi made the call.

The flop came down {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} and both players checked. After the turn produced the {7-Diamonds}, pairing the board, Lacay fired 350,000. Uyesugi went back and checked his cards before tossing them into the muck. He was left with 1.08 million in chips while Lacay moved to about 3.7 million.

Stephen Pierson Eliminated in 6th Place ($147,138)

Stephen Pierson - 6th Place
Stephen Pierson - 6th Place

Miguel Proulx raised from the cutoff before Stephen Pierson reraised from the big blind. Proulx thought for a little bit and then stuck the chips in in order to put Pierson all in. He called.

Pierson held the {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades} against the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} for Proulx. The flop, turn and river ran out {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Proulx's kings held strong.

For his finish in sixth place, Pierson took down nearly $150,000 in prize money.

Alaei Gets By Lacay

Ludovic Lacay raised to 150,000 from the button, Daniel Alaei made a quick call from the small blind, and the two men were heads up the rest of the way.

The flop came out {A-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {5-Spades}, and both men checked. That put the {5-Clubs} out there on fourth street, and now Alaei led out with a bet of 215,000. Lacay called without delay, and the {3-Clubs} drew one last bet from Alaei. He announced 475,000 and slid those chips forward, and that sent Lacay deep into the tank. He took several long minutes to consider, occasionally turning his glance to Alaei to check on him. Finally, Lacay took one last look at his cards and plopped them into the muck.

Lacay Straightens Out

Ludovic Lacay raised to 125,000 from the hijack seat, and he found two calls. One came from Miguel Proulx on the button and the other from big blind Trevor Uyesugi, and the three players went off to the flop.

It came {6-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {2-Hearts}, and Uyesugi checked. He would fold when Lacay bet 265,000, but Proulx called to proceed to the turn heads-up. The {A-Clubs} came next, and both men checked, and they did the same when the {5-Hearts} filled out the board on fifth street. Lacay showed {A-Spades} {3-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {6-Hearts}, and his six-high straight was the best hand, and the dealer pushed that into his corner.

Uyesugi Gets it in There

Heavy betting broke out between Miguel Proulx and Travor Uyesugi on a flop of {8-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {K-Spades}. It resulted in Uyesugi getting himself all in for his last 725,000, and Proulx was right there to look him up and call for a showdown:

Proulx: {K-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {7-Clubs} (top two pair)
Uyesugi: {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {5-Diamonds} (top pair, gutshot/flush draw)

The turn {A-Diamonds} was a great card for Uyesugi, pulling him into the lead with aces up. The {6-Diamonds} river was safe enough to keep him out in front, and he's managed to find himself a big double up.

Counts coming shortly...

Dmitry Stelmak Eliminated in 7th Place ($111,524)

Dmitry Stelmak - 7th place
Dmitry Stelmak - 7th place

Dmitry Stelmak opened the pot with a pot-sized raise to 175,000. Daniel Alaei announced an all-in reraise two seats over, and Stelmak committed the rest of his own chips, albeit with a frown and a shake of the head. He was at risk, and the cards were turned up:

Stelmak: {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {6-Spades}
Alaei: {A-Clubs} {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}

Stelmak turned a flush draw, but the board of {J-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {7-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} was ultimately useless to him. He's been eliminated in 7th place, and that's good for a six-figure score but no bracelet for Stelmak.
