Tieman Takes One Before Break

Neil Channing limped in from the button and Joseph Elpayaa made the call from the small blind as Joshua Tieman checked his option.

Elpayaa checked the {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop as Tieman fired out 43,000. Channing called and Elpayaa passed as the {4-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Tieman led out for 108,000 and Channing took a little longer before making the call to see the {2-Spades} land on the river and a 188,000-chip bet follow from Tieman.

Nearly two minutes passed before Channing laid his hand down as the players headed to break.

Channing's Leaking Chips

In three of the last couple of hands, Neil Channing lost a pot to each one of his opponents.

Against Joshua Tieman, Channing called an open to 60,000 from the big blind then check-folded to a 70,000-chip bet bet on a {Q-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop.

Channing also called a raise in the blinds from Stuart Rutter. He again check-folded after the flop.

The hand against Joseph Elpayaa was a blind-for-blind battle. Channing completed from the small blind, Elpayaa checked his option and the flop fell {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Channing check-folded a third time when Elpayaa bet 40,000.

Another Big Bet from Rutter

Stuart Rutter isn't afraid to make big bets preflop.

He was sitting in the big blind when Neil Channing limped in from under the gun and Joshua Tieman completed in the small blind. Rutter raised to 99,000 and Channing re-raised to 259,000.

Tieman got out of the way and after tanking for a few minutes, Rutter reached for a couple of stacks and put in another raise to 659,000.

Channing tank-folded, and his stack slipped to 1,640,000 chips. Rutter's agression has him up to 2,350,000 chips.

Here are the last four hands:

Hand 1: Stuart Rutter walks.

Hand 2: Stuart Rutter opens to 58,000, Neil Channing re-raises to 168,000 and Rutter folds.

Hand 3: Joshua Tieman opens to 60,000, Neil Channing re-raises to 170,000 and Tieman folds.

Hand 4: Stuart Rutter opens to 58,000, Joseph Elpayaa re-raises to 192,000, Rutter four-bets to 420,000 and Elpayaa folds.

Tieman in the Driver's Seat

Our new chip leader Joshua Tieman is moving full speed ahead.

Tieman opened to 60,000 and Neil Channing called out of the big blind. The two checked a flop of {4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, and they also checked the {10-Diamonds} on the turn.

Channing checked a third time when the {6-Spades} fell on the river, but Tieman took this opportunity to bet 65,000. Channing mucked and Tieman raked in the pot.

Tieman has also raised over a few limps, including one from Joseph Elpayaa, taking the pot down preflop.

Nicolas Levi Eliminated in 5th Place ($92,543)

Levi eliminated in 5th place.
Levi eliminated in 5th place.

Nicolas Levi slipped a bit early, but had a prime opportunity to double up through another short-stacked player; Joshua Tieman.

Unfortunately for him, it wasn't in the cards.

Tieman opened to 60,000 and the action folded to Levi who three-bet to 189,000 in the big blind. Tieman four-bet to 465,000, Levi moved all-in and Tieman made the call:

Tieman: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Levi: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

The dealer wrapped the table, dealt three cards face down and then fanned them out: {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}.

Levi's rail groaned at the two-outer. He now needed running spades or another jack for the win or the board to straighten for a chop.

The {A-Clubs} on the turned ruined any chances of a flush or straight, and the {2-Clubs} on the river ended it all for Levi. He will have to settle with a 5th place finish and $92,543.

Tieman now sits with the chip lead:

Tieman - 2,750,000 chips
Joseph Elpayaa - 2,500,000 chips
Stuart Rutter - 2,000,000 chips
Neil Channing - 1,740,000 chips

Rutter Rivers a Straight

Stuart Rutter opened to 55,000 from under the gun and Joseph Elpayaa called from the small blind.

The flop fell {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Elpayaa check called a 80,000-chip bet from Rutter. Both players checked the {5-Hearts} on the turn, and the river brought the {7-Spades}.

Elpayaa studied his opponent before leading for 154,000. Rutter called tabling {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a rivered straight and Elpayaa mucked.

Rutter chipped up to 2,100,000 and Elpayaa is still our chip leader but now has 2,540,000.

Tieman is Four-Betting

Joshua Tieman
Joshua Tieman

Joshua Tieman is on the short stack right now, but just took down a nice pot preflop.

Tieman opened to 60,000 from the cutoff, Stuat Rutter folded his button and Nicolas Levi re-raised to 185,000 from the small blind. Neil Channing surrendered his big blind and action was back on Tieman who reached for green T25,000 chips and raised to 510,000.

Levi snap-folded and Tieman was awarded the pot.

A few hands later Tieman opened to 60,000 again, this time from under the gun. Rutter three-bet to 150,000 and the action folded back to Tieman who four-bet to 375,000. Rutter, like Levi, released and Tieman shipped another pot preflop.

Tieman's agression now has him at 1,600,000 chips.
