Rule Verification
Ted Forrest check-called a bet after all three draws from Kirk Banks. Banks then spread the , having a pair of deuces. The dealer announced that Banks held an eighty-seven and Forrest almost mucked. Someone else at the table saw that Banks held a pair of deuces and called it out. Forrest checked and then tabled his ten-eight for the winning hand. This brought up some discussion as to whether or not you're able to spread a hand that has a pair in it during this tournament. Some of the players claimed that in some places, you can't spread a pair. Forrest wanted to know what happened when the dealer called the wrong hand and almost caused Forrest to muck.
After talking with the floor staff, the players were informed that you can indeed spread pairs. "Do all the angle shooting you wants boys!" announced the player who went and talked with the floor about the rule on spreading hands with pairs or worse in them. The dealer was also instructed to make sure he called out the right hands.
