Off Into the Sunset
First in from the button, Christopher Fargis raised, and Hoyt Corkins three-bet his small blind. Fargis made the call, and it was off to the drawing rounds heads up.
We were distracted just long enough to see how many cards Corkins drew, but he fired out a bet after receiving his card(s). Fargis made the call after drawing two.
On the second draw, Corkins took one card and fired a bet. Fargis pulled two cards again and raised to put Corkins all in, and the Cowboy obliged by committing the rest of his 10,000-chip stack with one draw left. Fargis patted and Corkins sighed and said, "I still need one."
Fargis opened up , and Corkins showed his held cards: (X). He peeled the fifth card like a band-aid, shook his head, and said, "Pair of threes," flipping over a bad card.
"Okay, I'm done," Corkins said, gathering his coat and cigar and heading off to the rail after his 23rd-place elimination.
