Paasonen Picks up Some of Eslami's Chips

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

In a blind vs. blind confrontation, Ali Eslami called from the small and Mika Paasonen checked his option.

The flop came {6-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Eslami bet 17,000. Paasonen called.

Turn brought a {2-Spades}, Eslami bet 27,000 and Paasonen called.

The river fell the {10-Spades} and Eslami checked, prompting a 55,000 bet from Paasonen. Eslami folded.

Eslami is down to 375,000 while Paasonen has chipped up to 215,000.

Kessler Clips Gordon

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

John Gordon opened to 34,000 from early position and Allen Kessler defended his big blind to see a {K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop fall and both players check.

When the {8-Clubs} landed on the turn, Kessler led out for 41,000 to force a fold from Gordon after he laid a mean stare down at Kessler for a few seconds.

Some Quiet Preflop Action

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Ted Lawson opened to 37,000 from middle position and picked up the blinds. The following hand saw Brian Rast open to 36,000 from under the gun to produce a round of folds before finding a walk the next hand.

Ali Eslami would then enter the pot from the cutoff with a 32,000-chip raise to collect the pot before John Gordon would close out the sixth hand in a row with a raise to 42,000.

Whorley's Jacks Hold

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Brian Rast opened to 38,000 from the cutoff only to have Dajuan Whorley move all in for 82,000. Once the blinds passed, Rast made the call.

Rast: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Whorley: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

With Whorley in great shape to double, the {K-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop saw Rast catch a flush draw, and when the {10-Diamonds} came on the turn, he also picked up outs to a straight.

Fortunately for Whorley, the river landed the {Q-Diamonds} to see him make Broadway and secure the double to 188,000 as Rast slips to 995,000 in chips.

Gordon Takes First

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

John Gordon opened to 43,000 and picked up the 24,000 in dead money.

As he was dragging the pot, the Tournament Director started organizing a color up so that the smaller 1,000-denomination chips won't dominated the table.
