Lavelle Doubles Through Kelton

Level 31 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

From the small blind, Jeffrey Lavelle raised to 300,000. In the big blind, Casey Kelton called and the flop came down {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Lavelle fired a continuation bet of 350,000 and then Kelton moved all in, having Lavelle covered. Lavelle snap-called to put himself at risk for 1.64 million. He instantly tabled the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} and stood from his chair. His rail went into a frenzy cheering for him to double up. He was up against the {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for Kelton.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} and the river the {7-Diamonds}. Lavelle's aces held up and he was able to double through Kelton.

Stanley Tavanese Eliminated in 5th Place ($170,648)

Stanley Tavanese - 5th Place

In only the sixth hand of this final table, Stanley Tavanese has been busted in fifth place at the hands of Casey Kelton, who now holds a commanding chip lead with over five million in his stack.

Earlier, Tavanese raised all-in from the small blind and picked up the blinds and antes, but after he shoved again from the button in the very next hand, Kelton snap-called from the small blind and Allan Le folded his big blind before the cards were tabled:

Kelton: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Tavanese: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}

The flop of {10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} changed nothing, but Tavanese cringed when the {5-Diamonds} spiked on the turn, which left him drawing dead. As if to rub it in, the dealer peeled off the river {3-Hearts} to give Kelton the full house and send Tavanese to the rail to collect $170,648.

Action moved to Foster Hays in the cutoff seat and he raised to 300,000. Robert Koss reraised all in from the small blind for a little under two million and before Stanley Tavanese could fold in the big blind, Hays announced a call and exposed his hand. Tavanese then folded in turn and it was Hays' {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} against Koss' {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}.

The flop came down {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, but no player held a heart. The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} to give Hays the lead and then the river completed the board with the {2-Hearts}. Hays' pair of queens won the hand and he eliminated Koss in sixth place.

For exposing his hand and also acting out of turn, Hays has received a one-round penalty and will be sitting out for a bit.

Slow Start

Level 31 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

The first hand of the afternoon saw the action fold around to Allen Le, who open-shoved from the small blind. Foster Hays folded his big blind and Le took down the pot uncontested.

Casey Kelton then made a raise from the cutoff in the second hand and stole the blinds and antes, then in the third hand the action folded to Hays who raised to 300,000 from the button. Robert Koss called from the big blind, but then check-folded after Hays led out for 700,000 on the flop of {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}.

Foster Hays - leading the pack back into Day 4!

From 3,157 players, we are now down to our final six and we are set to finally decide who will be on top of the mountain in Event #18 of the 42nd Annual World Series of Poker!

Despite having reached our final table yesterday after two-and-a-half hours of play, all ten levels were played through, with only three eliminations and 19 double-ups!

However, thanks to the new ten-level rule, we're certain that all six contenders are all well-rested and will have a renewed energy upon returning this afternoon. If last night's action was anything to go by, then this place will light up brighter than the fourth of July!
