Two days ago, 354 players registered for Event #19: $2,500 Limit Hold'em / Six Handed, hoping to make a deep run and contend for a World Series of Poker bracelet. Today, on Day 3, only twelve players remain, and our chip leader is Alexander Kuzmin with 412,500. Kuzmin is looking to add a second win to his 2011 resumé; he shipped WPT Biloxi in January for $575,969.
Matt Matros is the only bracelet winner left in the field. Last year he took down a $1,500 Limit Hold'em event, defeating Ahmad Abghari heads up to take home $189,870 and the hardware. This is Matros' 22nd WSOP cash - third of 2011 - and if he reaches the final table it would be his fifth.
Another player to keep an eye on is Kim Nguyen. She has an opportunity to be the third woman to make a final table at the 2011 WSOP, and the first - and perhaps only one - to win a bracelet in an open event.
The cards will be in the air in just under 30 minutes. The plan is to play to a champion, unless we reach ten levels first. Let's hope it's the former, not the latter.
Here's how the two tables will look to start the day:
