A Pair of Aces is All it Takes

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Action folded to Darren Woods in the cutoff and he put in a raise. Alex Kuzmin defended in the big blind and it was heads up to the {A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop. It went check-bet-raise-call, leading to the {5-Spades} on the turn.

This time it was Kuzmin who bet and Woods making the call, which was the same action that transpired on the {9-Clubs} river. Kuzmin flipped over {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a pair of aces and it was good enough to take down the pot.

Nguyen Gets Some Back

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Kim Nguyen raised on the button, Andrey Zaichenko put in three bets from the big blind and Nguyen called. The flop came down {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Zaichenko led out, and Nguyen called.

Zaichenko led again after the {j-Clubs} turned, Nguyen called, and the river brought the {9-Spades}. Zaichenko slowed down, checking to Nguyen who bet. Zaichenko released, and Nguyen shipped the pot.

Woods Takes One Down

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Darren Woods was in the big blind and called Andrey Zaichenko's raise. It was heads up to the {7-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop, which Woods checked. Zaichenko threw out a bet, Woods called, and the {4-Clubs} appeared on the river.

Surprisingly, it was Woods who took the initiative and led out with a bet. It must have smelled funny to Zaichenko because he decided to fold his hand.

In a raised pot preflop, Kim Nguyen and Samuel Golbuff took a flop of {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Golbuff check-raised Nguyen, and she called.

The turn was the {3-Hearts}, Golbuff led out, and Nguyen called. Golbuff led once more when the {5-Spades} rivered, but did not receive a call from Nguyen who mucked her cards.

Set of Nines

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Samuel Golbuff opened for a raise only to be three-bet by Alexander Kuzmin. The rest of the field got out of the way and Golbuff made the call to take us to the {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} flop. Golbuff check-called a bet to see the {9-Hearts} put out on the turn.

Golbuff then check-raised Kuzmin, with the latter making the call. Kuzmin then called a bet on the {K-Spades} river, only to muck when Golbuff showed {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a set of nines.

The river was the {a-Clubs}, and Nguyen checked to Zaichenko who fired one last bet. Nguyen surrendered, folding her hand, and Zaichenko raked in the pot.

Countrymen Battle

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Alex Kuzmin raised from the cutoff and received a call from fellow Russian Andrey Zaichenko in the big blind. Zaichenko then led out on the {10-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, Kuzmin called, and the {Q-Clubs} hit the turn. It went check-bet-call before the {3-Clubs} was revealed on the river.

Zaichenko check and Kuzmin bet, which ended the hand right then and there.

Gabriel Nassif Eliminated in 6th Place ($27,720)

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Gabriel Nassif - Eliminated in 6th Place
Gabriel Nassif - Eliminated in 6th Place

Gabriel Nassif raised from the cutoff, Samuel Golbuff re-raised on the button, and Nassif called. The flop fell {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, Nassif checked, and Goldbuff bet. Nassif tanked for a very long time - he had less than two big bets and was deciding whether or not to just get the rest of his chips in the middle. He eventually mucked his cards, but on the very next hand he got his stack in the middle against Golbuff.

Nassif: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Golbuff: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Nassif was dominated, and did not catch up when the board ran {j-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. The Parisian pro finished in 6th place, and will receive $27,720 (about €19,235) for his efforts.

Nassif vs. Golbuff

Action folded to Gabriel Nassif in the small blind and he quickly put in a raise. Samuel Golbuff made it three bets to go from the big, Nassif called, and the flop fell {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Nassif check-called a bet and watched as the dealer burned and turned the {J-Clubs}.

Again Nassif checked, Golbuff bet, but this time Nassif folded after spending a minute in the tank.

Darren Woods takes one down

Darren Woods raised from the small blind, Andrey Zaichenko made it three bets, and Woods called. The dealer fanned {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Spades}, and Woods check-called a bet. The turn was the {4-Hearts}, and Woods check-called another bet from Zaichenko.

Both players checked the {7-Hearts} on the river, Woods opened {a-Hearts}{9-Spades} for ace-high, and Zaichenko mucked.
