Ionel Anton got his last 100,000 in preflop with a call from Rupert Elder.
Elder had and Anton showed .
A queen hit the board in the window with the flop reading out and the turn and river were no help to Elder and he doubled up Ionel. Elder fell to just around 330,000 and Anton has 205,000 after the hand
We found this hand unfolding as the river was being peeled off. The board was and Rupert Elder moved all in. Michael Finstein called and Elder tabled for Broadway. Elder doubled to up over 400,000.
It should be no surprise that Chris Moorman's table has had a quick start here on Day 3.
In the first hand at the table, Chris Moorman raised it up to 24,000 under the gun and Oleksii Kovalchuk called.
The flop came out and Kovalchuk checked. Moorman bet out 35,000 and Kovalchuk check-raised it up to 90,000 and Moorman called.
The turn was the and both players checked.
The river came and Kovalchuk again checked. Moorman bet out 115,000 and Kovalchuk folded.
The very next hand, Dan O'Brien raised it to 20,000 from the cutoff, Moorman re-raised to 55,000 and O'Brien re-shipped all in with Moorman folding. It will no doubt be a super active table today until re re-draw at 18 players.
Out of the1,378 players who started Day 1, and the 189 players who came back for Day 2, only 22 remain. Our chipleader heading into day 3 is Anthony Ruberto who finished the day with 1,550,000, but the story of the tournament so far has to be Chris Moorman who is second in chips with 1,210,000 to start today. Moorman is an absolute legend of online poker tournaments who has had minimal WSOP success, and in an event like six handed No-Limit Hold'em (which favors the aggressive player), a relentlessly aggressive player like Moorman has a huge advantage going into our final day of play.
All of the remaining players are guaranteed to take home at least $20,377, but all eyes are on the $689,739 and gold bracelet that will go to our eventual champion. There were many notable players who hit the rail yesterday including Jean-Robert Bellande, who started the day 2nd in chips, Jake Cody, Tuan Le, Jimmy Tran, Olivier Busquet, and Mohsin Charnia, but plenty notables remain. Players like Moorman, Will "The Thrill" Failla (cashed seven times at last year's WSOP), Rupert Elder (2011 EPT San Remo Champion), Dan O'Brien (tournament circuit regular with a third place finish in a 2008 WSOP No-Limit Hold'em event) are all big name players and all searching for their first WSOP bracelet. These will be the players to watch as we get closer and closer to the final table and the bracelet.
We are about to get underway here in the next few minutes in the blue section of the Amazon Room. Stay tuned to PokerNews for up-to-the-minute live updates in the event.
