Timothy Ulmer
Timothy Ulmer

Timothy Ulmer made it 26,000 to go and Fredrik Jensen made it 300,000 to go, which had Ulmer covered. He quickly made the call and the hands were turned up.

Ulmer: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Jensen: {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The board fell jack-high and Ulmer was sent to the rail, collecting $17,145 in prize money.

Kenney Flushes Spannenberg Away

The action folded to Tyler Kenney on the button who raised to 26,000. Tore Spannenberg then moved all in from the big blind for 300,000. Kenney tanked for a bet before calling, and we were off to the races.

Kenney: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Spannenberg: {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Spannenberg snatched the lead away when the flop fell {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, but the {5-Hearts} on the turn gave Kenney outs to a four flush. The {3-Hearts} on the river completed said flush, and Spannenberg was eliminated from the tournament.

Big brother Bryn came over to congratulate Tyler, and watch him as he stacked his new found chips.

Flurry of Eliminations

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

In the first half hour of play today, Robert Thompson, Lars Bonding, Michael Meredith, Adam Laskey, Len Demchak and Marcelo Horta were all eliminated from play.

Lay Doubles

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Geoffrey Lay just doubled through Karl Johansson in the first twenty minutes of play. We're not quite sure when the chips got in, but the board was {8-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, and Lay's {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} bested Johansson's {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Lay is up to 295,000 chips, while Johansson slipped below 200,000.

Andy Frankenberger
Andy Frankenberger

Welcome to Day 3 of EVent #28: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em. A field of 28 remain in contention for the World Series of Poker gold bracelet and Steven Merrifield leads them all with 1.025 million in chips. He'll be joined by Andy Frankenberger, Owen Crowe, Tyler Kenney, Lars Bonding and Matt Graham in quest for victory.

Things are quite hectic here in the Rio and especially in the Amazon Room. Right now, the tournament staff is working on breaking some tables from Event #32: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em in order to clear room for this event's restart. One thing in for certain though, with 28 players left we're going to be in for a very long day.

Action is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 PM PT. The goal is to play to a winner, but if we play ten levels first, the tournament need a fourth day due to the ten-level rule. The cards will be in the air shortly so stay tuned!
