Chen's Fives Scoop

Bill Chen: {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} / {5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} / {Q-Hearts}
John Racener: {2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} / {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} / {8-Diamonds}

Racener completed and Bill Chen raised, virtually committing himself while Racener quickly set him in for the rest. Chen looked to be in trouble on fourth but then made fives with a bigger kicker as Racener's board bricked off - fives with an ace queen kicker were good for the entire pot.

Cyndy Violette Eliminated in 15th Place ($27,888)

Cyndy Violette - 15th place
Cyndy Violette - 15th place

Cyndy Violette was short after she paid off David Benyamine's seventh street bet when his board was {3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, the Frenchman turned over {7-}{4-}{2-} to scoop as Violette only had {A-}{J-}{10-} to go with her board of {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

The remaining chips were in as follows:

Violette: {x-}{x-} / {2-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} / {x-}
Benyamine: {x-}{x-} / {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} / {x-}
Erik Seidel: {x-}{x-} / {8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} / {x-}

Beyamine fired on fourth, fifth and sixth before check-calling seventh. Seidel turned over {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a 7-6-3-2-A and a baby flush. Benyamine was about to muck his hand but then realised, "Oh, I've not checked my last card!" he turned over {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and then the {Q-Hearts} to house up for the high.

Violette couldn't beat either of these hands and simply mucked her cards, she goes out in 15th place.

Violette Doubles Through Laak

Laak: {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}/{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Hellmuth: {X-}{X-}/{10-Hearts}
Savinov: {X-}{X-}/{7-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Violette: {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}/{A-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}

Well, this one had some serious action to start. After Phil Laak brought it in, Phil Hellmuth completed. Mikhail Savinov called, but Cyndy Violette decided to make a stand with her short stack and raised. Laak, though, re-raised. Hellmuth ducked out, Savinov came along, and Violette called all in for another 5,000.

Violette had the lead on fourth street on board, but Laak was first to act and he bet. Savinov called again, but then check-folded on fifth street.

Laak's wheel draw was up against Violette's aces. Sixth street for Cyndy was the {3-Clubs} to give her aces up. Laak hit the {4-Hearts} on sixth to pair up as well, but his seventh was the {J-Hearts}, clinching the hand for Cyndy.

Chris Tryba Eliminated in 16th Place ($27,888)

Chris Tryba - 16th place
Chris Tryba - 16th place

Chris Tryba: {x-}{x-} / {4-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{6-Spades} / {x-}
John Racener: {x-}{x-} / {8-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} / {x-}
Felipe Ramos: {x-}{x-} / {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{K-Clubs} / {x-}

Chris Tryba was all in for his final chips on fifth street with John Racener and Felipe Ramos calling. They checked it down, Ramos showed {A-}{A-}{8-} for aces up, Racener had {J-}{5-}{3-} for an 8-6-5-3-2 low. Tryba turned over {2-}{3-}, needing a five to scoop, another unpaired low card to take the low or the case king for the high. He bricked them all though and caught a {Q-Clubs} and became the first player out in the money.

Justin Smith: {9-Spades}{6-Spades} / {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{A-Diamonds} / {4-Diamonds}
Christopher George: {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} / {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} / {J-Spades}

Justin Smith raised and Chris George made it two bets, Smith called then check-called fourth. On fifth Smith led out before putting in his last 17,000 on sixth. George called and turned over two pair before bricking the river, Smith squeezed and declared, "It's 50/50..." before disappointedly showing the {4-Diamonds} instead of a five.

All remaining players are in the money.
