Rast on the Rise

Level 13
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

Pot-Limit Omaha

With the board showing {4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and about 25,000 in the middle, Eugene Katchalov bet 20,000, then Brian Rast raised to 45,500. Both had been enjoying bowls of pasta at the table, but had dropped their utensils as the betting became heavy. Katchalov chewed, swallowed, then called Rast's bet.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and both checked. The river brought the {5-Spades} and another check from Katchalov. Rast carved out a bet of 80,000, and Katchalov winced at the sight of the bet. After a half-minute of thought, he finally folded and returned to his pasta.

"All-in with 8-7 and now look" said Abe Mosseri, referring to an earlier 2-7 Triple Draw hand of Rast's and his currently huge chip stack. He's nearing the million-chip mark now, presently sitting with about 980,000.

Meanwhile, Katchalov's starting to starve for chips. He down to about 120,000 now.
