Vladimir Shchemelev Eliminated in 10th Place ($168,529)

Level 22
Vladimir Shchemelev - 10th Place
Vladimir Shchemelev - 10th Place

Stud-8

Phil Hellmuth: (X)(X) / {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} / (X)
Vladimir Shchemelev: (X)(X) / {k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades} / (X)

Hellmuth completed, Shchemelev raised, and Hellmuth called. Hellmuth led on fourth street, and Shchemelev called.

On fifth, Shchemelev made the best board, and led out. Hellmuth raised, Shchemelev re-raised all in and Hellmuth called.

Hellmuth: {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Shchemelev: {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

Sixth street changed nothing for either player, and Shchemelev turned over the {9-Hearts} as soon as it was dealt to him on seventh. Hellmuth turned over the {a-Hearts}, giving him a better pair of kings. Neither player had a low, so Hellmuth scooped the pot and eliminated Shchemelev from the tournament.

Hellmuth stood up, clapped his hands with excitement, and gave a hearty fist pump. Shchemelev on the other hand was speaking to the dealers and the entire table in Russian, and while we couldn't understand him, he didn't sound too pleased.

Hopefully $168,529 will cheer him up - that's what he'll receive for his 10th place finish.
