Another big double-up on the outer table just occurred right on the heels of Scott Schwalich's, this one involving Badih Bounahra and Phil Collins.
Following a flop, Bounahra led with a bet of 675,000 and when the action got to Collins he responded by pushing all in. Bouhahra called, putting his entire stack of 4.56 million at risk.
Collins had for top pair, but Bounahra had for bottom two. The turn was the and river the . Bounahra bounds up to 9.4 million while Collins slips to 9.75 million.
Aleksandr Mozhnyakov raised to 420,000 from the hijack seat, and Scott Schwalich flatted in the cutoff. From the button, Pius Heinz squeezed in a reraise to 1.125 million, and Mozhnyakov raised it up again to 1.7 straight -- which was actually too small to be a legal raise. In any event, Schwalich moved all in for 5.42 million over the top, Heinz folded, and Mozhnyakov made the call with the covering stack. Twelve-million-chip cooler!
Showdown
Mozhnyakov,
Schwalich:
There was no funny stuff on the board that ran out , and the big double goes over to Schwalich and his aces. He's in the top ten now, while Mozhnyakov tumbles all the way back to 1.38 million.
From under the gun, Bryan Devonshire raised to 420,000. Action folded all the way to Andrey Pateychuk in the small blind and he made the call. Eoghan O'Dea also called from the big blind.
The flop came down paired again on the main feature table with the rolling out. Everyone checked and the turn brought the . Pateychuk fired 655,000 and O'Dea folded. Devonshire called.
The river card was the and Pateychuk bet 1.125 million. Devonshire folded and Pateychuk won the pot.
Eoghan O'Dea opened to 425,000 from middle position, and Ben Lamb called out of the big blind. The flop came down , Lamb checked, and O'Dea tossed out 310,000. Lamb check-raised to 1.1 million, and O'Dea quickly folded.
Bryan Devonshire raised to 420,000 from under the gun before Ryan Lenaghan reraised to 1.05 million from the button. After the blinds folded, Devonshire moved all in for 8.19 million. Lenaghan folded and Devonshire won the pot.
On the next hand, Devonshire got a walk in the big blind and he's now over ten million in chips.
Khoa Nguyen raised to 450,000 under the gund and received calls from Anton Makievskyi in the small blind and Gionni Demers in the big. It was three-way action to the flop, which all players checked. When the hit the turn, Makievskyi checked, Demers bet 625,000, Nguyen folded, and Makievskyi made the call.
Both players proceeded to check the river, and Makievskyi flipped over for top pair. Demers simply tossed his cards to the muck.
Eoghan O'Dea opened to 420,000 from early position, and Ryan Lenaghan defended his big blind. The flop came down , Lenaghan checked, and O'Dea continued for 550,000. Lenaghan released, and O'dea pulled in the pot.
Phil Collins has been active -- as usual -- out on the outer table here at the start of Day 8. Here are a couple of recent hands involving "USCphildo."
In the first, Collins raised to 500,000 from the hijack seat, then Badih Bounahra reraised all in from the cutoff seat. It folded back around and Collins took his time contemplating Bounahra's reraise. Finally Collins let it go, and Bounahra now has about 4.8 million.
In the very next hand, it was Pius Heinz raising from under the gun to 425,000, then Collins three-betting to force everyone else, including Heinz, out of the hand. Heinz has about 6.9 million at the moment, while Collins presently sits with 14.5 million.
From the button, Martin Staszko raised to 425,000. Ben Lamb once again decided to defend with a call from the big blind and the flop came down . LAmb check-called a bet of 525,000 before the dealer placed the out on the turn. Lamb checked and Staszko checked behind.
The river was the and Lamb fired 1.35 million. Staszko folded and Lamb won the hand.
