Chris Overgard Eliminated in 12th Place ($11,910)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Chris Overgard managed to score a crucial double-up earlier in this blind level, but he's just busted in 12th place by Scott Clements, who is now well over 600,000 in chips.

It did take Clements two bites of the cherry in order to do it though - earlier in the level, on a flop that read {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Clements and Overgard got their money into the middle after some heavy post-flop action. Clements showed {A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for the gut-shot, but trailed Overgards' {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} all the way as the turn and river was spread {8-Clubs}, {10-Clubs}.

However, that double-up was short-lived. A few hands later, the action folded to Overgard who raised from the button before Clements three-bet it from the blinds. Overgard called, then they got all their money into the middle after the flop of {10-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{A-Spades}.

Clements{ Ad}{10-Hearts}
Overgard: {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

Neither the turn of the {6-Diamonds} nor the river {5-Spades} were of any help to Overgard and he was given his marching orders. If it was any consolation (which we're pretty sure it would be), Overgard was the first player to make five figures in this year's event. Well played, sir!
