DeWitt had chose to make a stand with jack-nine, which looked like it might pay off after the flop came down ; however, he needed to dodge the flush draw and overs of Vinas. Unfortunately for DeWitt, the peeled off on the turn and gave Vinas the said flush. All hope was not lost, however, as DeWitt could still hit a nine or jack on the river to boat up and scoop the pot.
