Eslami From The Big Blind

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Shaun Deeb kicked off the action from the small blind making it 150,000 to play and Ali Eslami obliged in the big blind. The action checked through to the turn on a board of {K-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} and it was Eslami who drew first blood with a 225,000 bet. Deeb muttered to himself, double-checked his cards and made the fold showing the {A-}.

Matt Marafioti Eliminated in 7th Place ($65,840)

Matt Marafioti - 7th Place
Matt Marafioti - 7th Place

Matt Marafioti moved his last 15,000 into the pot, Alexander Venovski called on the button as did both Shaun Deeb (SB) and Ali Eslami (BB).

The action checked through to the turn on a board of {J-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {Q-Spades} and it was Venovski who decided to spoil the party with a 60,000 bet. Both Deeb and Eslami folded and it was showdown time.

Venovski{A-Hearts} {10-Hearts}
Marafioti{A-} {2-}

Venovski had turned the nuts and Marafioti's hopes of remaining at this final table were slim.

River: {7-Diamonds}

No miracle for our Canadian and he was out in 7th place. Venovski continued his great comeback.

Eslami and Marafioti Play For it All

Ali Eslami
Ali Eslami

Ali Eslami raised to 175,000 to open the action, and Matt Marafioti three-bet shoved for 260,000 total. Manuel Bevand considered for a good while before folding, and Eslami called all in for 245,000.

Showdown
Eslami: {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts}
Marafioti: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}

Marafioti was ahead and had the slightly larger stack, but Eslami had the run-good, it seems. The {Q-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {K-Spades} paired both players, but it paired Eslami the hardest. Marafioti could not catch up on the {4-Spades} turn or {J-Hearts} river, and he's been parted with all but 15,000 of his stack.

Eslami, on the other hand, is back over a half-million chips as the swings continue to be gut-wrenching at this final table.

A Venovski Double-Up

Andy Frankenberger raised to 100,000 in first position and he won the blinds. Then the action folded around to Manuel Bevand in the small blind who made it 130,000 and Frankenberger waved the white flag from the big. Finally, Andy Frankenberger raised to 150,000 in the small blind, Alexander Venovski moved all-in from the big blind for 255,000 and Frankenberger made the call.

Venovski{K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}
Frankenberger{4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}

So it was flip time and Venovski didn't waste any time taking the lead when he flopped a {K-Spades} accompanied by {6-Clubs} {5-Clubs}. The turn card was the {Q-Spades} and we didn't see the river but know that Venovski doubled up.

Frankenberger Raises Ivey Off The Pot

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Andy Frankenberger
Andy Frankenberger

Phil Ivey raised to 100,000 in first position and Andy Frankenberger made the call from the hijack. The flop was {10-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}, Ivey bet 100,000 and Frankenberger raised to 225,000. Back to Ivey and he riffled a few chips with his right hand, while the fingers of his left protected his cards. When those fingers came up for air the cards ended up in the muck and Frankenberger took down the pot.

Eslami and Deeb Trade Places

Shuan Deeb
Shuan Deeb

For the second time in as many days, it seems that Shaun Deeb is hot on the comeback trail once again.

The table folded around to the blinds on the last hand, and Deeb opened to 150,000. Ali Eslami raised to put him all in, and Deeb instantly called off his 315,000 with {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}. Eslami could only show {A-Clubs} {7-Hearts}, and he was in trouble with more than half his chips in the middle, too.

There was a good sweat by the time the turn arrived on the {4-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} board. Eslami had some chop outs, and the clubs left in the deck would give him the clean knockout. But the river was as blank as it gets — the {2-Hearts}.

Just like that, Deeb is back out of the basement once again. He's got 630,000 now, while Eslami falls back to the short stack with 265,000 or so.

Daniel Weinman Eliminated in 8th Place ($52,059)

Daniel Weinman - 8th place
Daniel Weinman - 8th place

Ali Eslami raised to 130,000 in the cutoff and took down the blinds. Then Daniel Weinman raised 'pot' making 175,000 from early position and also took down the blinds. Finally, it was the turn of Shaun Deeb to raise and take the blinds.

The action then folded around to Andy Frankenberger on the button and he made it 125,000. Daniel Weinman decided he wanted action, and he moved all-in from the big blind; Frankenberger making the quick call.

Weinman{K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}

Board: {A-Spades} {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {5-Hearts}

Frankenberger's queens fade the kings and clubs and Weinman is out.

Dead Man's Hands

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Shaun Deeb and Phil Ivey got it all in with Deeb being very much the shorter of the two stacks.

Showdown
Deeb: {A-Diamonds} {8-Spades}
Ivey: {A-Clubs} {8-Hearts}

Oh. Well, that's not very much fun. The {Q-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} flop gave Ivey a shot at winning the pot outright, but the turn {Q-Diamonds} ended any potential silliness. Chop it up, boys.
