Brikis' Flying Start

We picked up the action on the flop in a three-way pot. The board showed {9-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {6-Clubs}, and Isaac Haxton led out with a bet of 1,075 after making the preflop raise. Josh Brikis called the continuation bet, the third player in the hand folded, and it was heads-up to fourth street.

It brought the {7-Hearts} and another bet from Haxton — 2,800 this time. Brikis took just a little pause, then dropped the call into the pot. The river was a third heart, the {2-Hearts}, and Haxton barreled another 8,000 into the pot. Brikis snap-called this time, and Haxton rolled over {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts}. Brikis waited to see it, then showed down the superior {5-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} to take the pot with trips.

Haxton shook his head and sighed, and he's been reduced to about 11,500 now.
