La Hurting, Hastings Moves Up

Meng La just lost two pots in a row knocking him down to just over 300,000 chips. Phil Ivey was the first one to take some of his chips, and right after that Brian Hastings got a chunk as well.

Ivey raised to 16,000 and got called by La, who was on the button, and Hanson, who was in the small blind. On a {4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop Hanson checked to Ivey who bet 8,000, only to get called by La.

The turn was the {5-Spades} and La called a 16,000 chip bet. The river was the {K-Clubs} and now La opted to fold when Ivey put out his third consecutive bet. Ivey moved up to 640,000 after this hand.

From the under the gun position Brian Hastings raised to 16,000 on the very next hand and La called from the cutoff. The flop came down {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Hastings bet 8,000 after which La made it 16,000 to go. Hastings called and check-called 16,000 when the {K-Diamonds} hit the turn.

On the river the {A-Spades} showed up and after some deliberation La decided to check behind. Hastings turned over {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and La sighed as he much his hand. Hastings is now in second place while La drops to third.
