Gold Section: Jack Melki Cleaning House

Despite never cashing in a live event, outside of his native France, Jack Melki is cleaning house at Table #19. We have not seen the exits but understand that Melki has been responsible for the eliminations of both World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet holders Erik Cajelais and Leif Force, and now holds 70,000 chips, which is easiest the biggest stack in the Gold section of the Brasilia room.

Another player who is making good ground is Florian Langmann, but we did just witness him losing a pot.

We joined the action on a flop of {10-Spades} {8-Clubs} {6-Hearts}, Langmann checked, the hijack checked and Chris Demaci bet 1,750 from the button. Langmann check-raised to 2,800, the hijack folded and Demaci made the call. The {3-Hearts} was checked through on the turn and then Demaci bet 5,500 at the sight of the {5-Hearts} on the river. Langmann folded and Demaci picked up the pot and 17,500 in chips. Langmann was reduced to 41,500.

David 'Doc' Sands just had a tough river decision, and unfortunately he got it wrong. We joined the action on the turn with 2,000 in the pot and {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {5-Clubs} on the board. Sands checked, Steven Brackesy bet 2,000 and Sands made the call. The river card was the {A-Spades} and Brackesey bet 3,800 once checked to. Sands took a good three-minutes of thought before making the call.

"I've got it," said Brackesey before tabling {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {6-Spades} {2-Spades} and Sands mucked.
