Choosing a Champion's Soundtrack
Michael "The Grinder' Mizrachi is among the late registrants, having taken a seat in the Tan section. Shaun Deeb is now sitting in Tan, too. Annie Duke has arrived as well and is sitting over in the Red section. And Event 7: $1,500 Seven Card Stud winner Andy Bloch is here in search of a second bracelet. Bloch is now sitting at a table over in the Red section with another WSOP bracelet holder, Matt Hawrilenko.
The subject at Bloch's table currently is the WSOP bracelet ceremony, where Bloch is explaining apparently winners can request to have any song played to recognize their achievement — i.e., not just the player's national anthem.
"I thought about doing something different," said Bloch. "But I couldn't think of what would be a good song to choose."
"Something from The Book of Mormon?" said Hawrilenko with a mischievous grin, alluding to the popular musical by the creators of South Park.
"No, no, no... 'Insane in the Membrane'!" said another, raising his flattened palms up in raise-the-roof mode.
"How about the shortest song ever?" asked Bloch. "Or what about a real long Skynyrd song?" suggested a railbird, to which Bloch laughed and nodded.
"Yeah!" Bloch replied. "Freebird!"
