After ten levels of play without delay, Day 1 of Event 41: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em is history. Today's event drew an impressive 1,394 player field, which generated a $3,805,620 prize pool. Best positioned heading into Day 2 is Hafiz Khan, who managed to bag up a firm chip lead of 189,100. Not *too* far behind are Jarred Solomon with 167,500, Darren Elias with 134,300 and Kennii Nguyen, who bagged up 125,000.

After all the dust settled, 324 players survived and will come back tomorrow to play Day 2. Among them include Shannon Shorr (46,500), Martin Staszko (35,500), Layne Flack (58,000), Annette Obrestad (38,800), Andy Frankenberger (33,300) and Brock Parker, who bagged up a respectable 97,500 after being chip leader through part of the day.

Those who fell short include Barry Greenstein, Vanessa Selbst, Randy Lew, David Williams, Jonathan Duhamel, Dwyte Pilgrim, Bertrand Grospellier and defending Main Event Champion Pius Heinz.

Nguyen is poised to make another deep run, which will complement his recent second-place finish in Event 19: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em.

Fellow big-stack Parker is also looking to make another deep run. Parker recently earned a 5th-place finish in Event 25: $1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout. Parker has already earned two World Series of Poker bracelets (both in 2009) and has live-tournament winnings that exceed $1.1 million.

Play is set to resume tomorrow at 1:00 PM PST in the Amazon Room, where our remaining 324 combatants will play out ten more levels. Be sure to stick with us here at PokerNews to follow all the action and we race our way to a final table.

Until then, goodnight from Las Vegas!
