Updated Chip Counts

Not too much in the way of significant chip movement over the last couple of orbits, with few hands reaching a flop, either. Roch "Rocky" Cousineau continues to maintain his hefty advantage, with Cam Mckinley currently the table's short stack.

Cousineau Keeping Control

Timothy Finne opened for 48,000 from the button and Roch Cousineau called from the big blind. The flop came {A-Clubs}{3-Spades}{J-Clubs} and both checked. The turn was the {2-Spades}. This time Cousineau led for 62,000, and Finne called.

The river brought the {10-Diamonds} and a check from Cousineau. Finne thought a beat, then checked as well. Cousineau showed {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} for two pair and a low, and after studying Cousineau's cards for a moment Finne mucked.

Cousineau Pulling Away

Roch Cousineau has pulled out to a decent lead thanks to the last couple of hands. In the first, Steven Loube raised to 75,000 under the gun and Cousineau defended from the big blind.

Cousineau proceeded to check-call bets of 95,000 on the {4-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Spades} flop and 175,000 on the {3-Hearts} turn, and then both players checked the {2-Diamonds} river. "I fired into you twice with the {A-Spades}," Loube said and tabled {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Unfortunately for him, Cousineau held {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} to take both the high and low.

In the next hand, Cameron Mckinley raised to 60,000 on the button only to have Cousineau three-bet to 216,000 from the small blind. Mckinley made the call, both players checked the {K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{J-Clubs} flop, and Cousineau bet out 186,000 on the {9-Clubs} turn. Mckinley sent his cards to the muck and Cousineau took down another.

Charalampos Lappas Eliminated in 5th Place ($41,589)

Charalampos Lappas - 5th place
Charalampos Lappas - 5th place

After losing that big chunk to Roch Cousineau following a failed river bluff, it took two more hands to spell the end of Charalampos Lappas's run in Event 47.

In the first, Lappas raised to 75,000 from the cutoff and got a caller in Cam Mckinley. The flop came {6-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Lappas bet 125,000, and Mckinley quickly called. The turn then brought the {J-Hearts}, pairing the board. Lappas checked, and Mckinley wasted no time pushing his stack of about 370,000 forward. Lappas folded, and Mckinley showed the {J-Spades} as he corralled the chips.

That one pushed Lappas down around 175,000. Soon Timothy Finne was open-raising to 72,000 from the small blind, Lappas reraised all in, and Finne called.

Finne: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Lappas: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{2-Clubs}

The {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{J-Clubs} flop gave Finne two pair, then the {5-Clubs} on the turn filled him up, leaving Lappas searching for a king on the river to save him. But the final community card was the {6-Spades}, and Lappas is out in fifth.

Sonu Sharma Eliminated in 6th Place ($41,589)

Sonu Sharma - 6th place
Sonu Sharma - 6th place

Sonu Sharma limped from under the gun plus one only to have Steven Loube raise pot to 106,000 from the button. Tim Finne was in the small blind and inquired with the floor as to whether or not the action would be reopened to Loube if Sharma, who started the hand with 139,000, were to move all in. The answer was no, and Finne made the call. Sharma moved in as expected, and Loube made the call.

When the flop fell {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Finne ended up check-folding to a pot-sized bet, leaving Sharma and Loube to turn up their cards.

Showdown
Loube: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Sharma: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Loube flopped top two pair but Sharma held a big wrap. Unfortunately for the latter, the {3-Diamonds} turn and {8-Clubs} river would both be dry and he would exit in sixth place for $41,589.

Big Call Pushes Rocky in Front

Roch Cousineau
Roch Cousineau

Charalampos Lappas opened for 50,000 from middle position. Sonu Sharma was contemplating what to do on the button when Roch "Rocky" Cousineau started to push calling chips forward from the small blind, not realizing Sharma had yet to act. Finally Sharma folded, Cousineau called, the flop came {7-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}, and both checked.

The turn brought the {J-Diamonds} and a bet of 66,000 from Cousineau. Lappas thought a beat, then pushed out a raise to 160,000. Cousineau called.

The river was the {4-Hearts}. Cousineau was thinking about what to do, and Lappas spoke up, thinking perhaps Cousineau had checked dark (he hadn't). Finally the Cousineau did check, and after about a half-minute Lappas bet 225,000.

Cousineau went deep into the tank, finally emerging to make the call. "I have a queen," he said as he did, turning over {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for queens and jacks. Lappas instantly mucked.

With that one Cousineau pushes up over 1.3 million and into the chip lead.
