Nine Ladies Left, All Shopping for a Special Piece of Jewelry
Welcome back to the third and final day of the 2012 World Series of Poker Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship. Just nine are left from a starting field of 936, each hoping to be the one to collect all of the others' chips today and claim the $170,587 first prize and a much coveted piece of jewelry, a WSOP gold bracelet.
Debbie Pechac of Phoenix, Arizona returns to the biggest stack today, having accumulated much of it during the last couple of hours on Day 2 to end with 630,000. Close behind are the Californian Candida Ross-Powers and Yen Dang of Denver, Colorado.
Much of the poker world's attention today will surely be directed toward Event 55, the $1,000,000 buy-in "Big One for One Drop" that is sure to draw a big rail of fascinated onlookers. But we expect a great deal of excitement on the main stage in the Pavilion Room today, too, where all nine of the players will likely have supporters cheering them on.
Play resumes at 1 PM local time, with 42 minutes left to go in Level 19. Come back then for all the coverage as we find out who among the final nine will become the 2012 WSOP's next champion.
