Day 2 of Event 52: $2,500 10-Game Mix Six-Handed began with 167 of the original 421 entrants, and after ten hours of play, 19 remain. Our chip leader, Vanessa Selbst, rocketed to the top of the charts after dinner break, and is our end-of-day chip leader with 346,900 chips. Joining her at the top of the counts are Michael Saltzburg (286,700), Matthew Ashton (285,600), and Julien Renard (283,000).
Selbst will be looking to capture her second career WSOP bracelet tomorrow �C her first came in a $1,500 PLO event in 2008 �C and Vincent van der Fluit is looking to take down his second WSOP event this year �C he won Event 11: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha. Chris Bjorin, Bryn Kenney, Lee Goldman, Can Kim Hua, James Mackey, and Thomas Chambers have all made final tables here at the 2012 WSOP, with Bjorin finishing runner-up in Event 4: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low 8-or-Better.
Plenty of notables bowed out before the money bubble burst, including Eli Elezra, Daniel Idema, Hasan Habib, Jason Potter, Joe Tehan, Joe Kuether, Greg Mueller, Paul Volpe, George Danzer, Yuval Bronshtein, Alex Dovzhenko, Michael Binger, Owais Ahmed, and our bubble boy; John D��Agostino. D��Agostino was eliminated in a hand of No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw, where he and Mike Gorodinksy both drew one card. Gorodinsky��s bested D��Agostino��s , eliminating him one spot shy of the money.
Among the 29 players who cashed but didn��t make it to Day 3 are Mike Matusow, Marco Traniello, Richard Ashby, Chris Wallace, Jeff Madsen, Dan O��Brien, Peter Ippolito, and Eric Wasserson.
