Eastgate Loses A Couple

David Borg raised it up to 90,000 on the button, and Peter Eastgate came along in the small blind. The dealer laid out a flop of {2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and Eastgate check called a bet of 110,000. The {4-Diamonds} hit the turn, and Eastgate checked again. Borg didn't slow down, firing out a bet of 250,000. This time, Eastgate folded, giving the pot to Borg.

On the next hand, Eastgate raised to 90,000 on the button, and Levy called in the small blind. The flop came down {2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, and after Levy checked, Eastgate continuation bet with 105,000. Levy called, and then both players checked when the {6-Clubs} hit the turn. When the {9-Clubs} hit the river, Levy fired out 175,000, and Eastgate went deep into the tank. After about 90 seconds of thought, he released his hand.

This has been the first sign of trouble for Eastgate all day, as he has had his way for the last five levels. He's still sitting just fine with 1.92 million, but that is a bit below average.

Junek Picks Off Vogel

Tomas Junek came in for a raise in the cutoff to 80,000, and Donald Vogel was the lone caller on the button. The two saw a flop of {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{j-Hearts}, and both players checked. The {9-Hearts} hit the turn, and Junek bet out 80,000. Vogel quickly called, and the river was the {9-Spades}. Junek checked to Vogel, who wasted little time in assembling a bet of 160,000, and tossing it in. Junek made the call, and Vogel said "nice call" and showed {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for queen high. Junek showed {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, and it was good enough to scoop the pot.

Andrew Taylor Eliminated in 6th Place ($113,092)

Andrew Taylor - 6th place
Andrew Taylor - 6th place

David Borg instigated this most recent hand by raising it up to 90,000 from middle position. Peter Eastgate made the call from the hijack, Eliyahu Levy did the same from the cut-off, and Andrew Taylor completed from the big blind.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} and the table checked over to Levy who bet out 200,000. Taylor then raised to 565,000. Borg and Eastgate folded, and Levy made the call.

The {10-Hearts} on the turn saw Taylor move all in and Levy call.

Levy: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Taylor: {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Both players had a flush, but Levy was ahead. Only the {4-Hearts} could save Taylor. He received no such luck as the {8-Spades} fell on the river.

Eastgate With The Big Four Bet

Action started with Peter Eastgate in the hijack, and he raised it up to 90,000. It got around to Tomas Junek on the button, and he counted out a raise to 195,000, and put it in. It folded back to the 2008 Main Event Champ, and Eastgate thought for about 10 seconds before grabbing all of his green T25,000 chips, and sliding them into the middle. It was a bet of 1.7 million, which covered Junek's stack. He quickly released his hand, and Eastgate took down the pot.

Steven Goldberg Eliminated in 7th Place ($84,649)

Steven Goldberg- 7th Place
Steven Goldberg- 7th Place

Action folded around to Steven Goldberg in the small blind, and he raised it up to 95,000. Donald Vogel defended his big blind, and the dealer fanned out a flop of {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Goldberg led out for 75,000, and Vogel quickly called. The turn was the {a-Hearts}, and this time, Goldberg fired out 145,000. Vogel tanked for about 30 seconds before announcing all in. Goldberg called off his remaining stack, and he was at risk and behind.

Goldberg: {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Vogel: {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}

Vogel was in the lead, but he would have to dodge the straight and flush draw outs of Goldberg. He was able to do just that, as the river brought the {9-Spades}. Vogel collected the chips, while Goldberg heads over to the payout desk to collect his near $85,000.

With Goldberg's elimination, we have reach the six-figure payday plateau.

Eastgate Snap Calls

Peter Eastgate raised from the button to 80,000 after the table folded around to him. Eliyahu Levy in the small blind made the call, and the big blind folded.

The flop came {j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} prompting a check from Levy. Eastgate bet out 85,000 and Levy quickly called.

The {7-Spades} on the turn saw both players check. It was the {3-Diamonds} on the river that brought another check from Levy and a bet of 175,000 from Eastgate. Levy then raised to 400,000 and Eastgate had his money in the pot before Levy with a call. Levy showed {K-}{j-}, and Eastgate flipped over {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a better two pair.

Borg's Set

David Borg doubles up
David Borg doubles up

Tomas Junek raised from under the gun and made it 80,000 to see a flop. The table folded around to David Borg on the button who three-bet to 205,000. The blinds folded and it was back on Junek, who four-bet to 360,000.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Junek bet out 330,000. Borg immediately moved all in. Junek quickly called and cards were tabled.

Junek: {A-}{A-}
Borg: {10-}{10-}

Borg grabbed a set of tens and the lead, as long as he could avoid an ace on the turn and the river he would double up. The {4-Clubs} on the turn was no help to Junek, and neither was the {6-Diamonds} on the river.

Borg now sits with over 2,000,000, and is near the top of the chip cunts.

Tomas Trampota Eliminated in 8th Place ($64,101)

Tomas Trampota- 8th Place
Tomas Trampota- 8th Place

Tomas Trampota started the final table with high hopes, as he was the second biggest chip stack to start nine-handed play. However, he was crippled in the last hand before the break, and he was eliminated on the first hand back.

Trampota open shoved in early position for his last 150,000, and it folded around to Donald Vogel, who made the call. The cards were flipped, and Trampota was in rough shape.

Trampota: {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Vogel: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Trampota would need a ton of help to catch up, and he got the exact opposite of help when the flop came {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. Trampota's only hope was running diamonds for a flush, or running straight cards for a chop. However, the {2-Hearts} on the turn ended things. The meaningless river was the {4-Diamonds}, and Trampota headed to the rail in 8th place.
