Doyle Doesn't Have The Straight

Action folded around to the small blind who raised to 1,450. Doyle Brunson, not one to be bullied, made the call from the big blind blind.

The flop fell {3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{3-Spades} and Brunson's opponent checked. Brunson fired out 1,500 and received a call. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and it was checked to Brunson once again. Texas Dolly fired out 4,000 and was called once again. The board completed with the {9-Hearts} and it was checked to Brunson one last time. Brunson opted for a bigger bet on this street, making it 15,000 to go.

Brunson's opponent thought over his action for about a minute.

"I have a feeling you hit a straight," Brunson's opponent said. Eventually, however, a call was made. Brunson, in fact, did not have the straight. Instead, Brunson had trips with {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and defeated his opponent's {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}.

The Godfather of poker is currently flirting with one hundred thousand in chips. He's sitting on about 95,000.
