Rettenmaier Wins Eight Minute Hand

Marvin Rettenmaier
Marvin Rettenmaier

Marvin Rettenmaier is known for taking his time at the tables, and he was just part of a hand that took almost ten minutes. Rettenmaier won the WPT Championship at Bellagio in May, and he's looking to extend that good fortune in the WSOP Main Event.

We caught up with the action on a flop of {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. There was about 20,000 in the middle, and Daniel?Hirleman checked from the small blind to Rettenmaier in the cutoff. He thought for about a minute before betting out 8,200, and Hirleman made the call. The turn brought the {5-Spades}, and Hirleman checked again. Rettenmaier thought again for about a minute before tossing in a bet of 19,600. Hirleman quickly called again, and the river brought the {3-Spades}. Here's where things got interesting.

Hirleman checked a third time, and Rettemaier tanked for about 90 seconds before assembling a big bet of 48,600. This sent Hirleman deep into the tank, and after about five minutes of thinking, the clock was called. The floor came over to administrate it, and just before he could announce the ten second warning, Hirleman said call.

Rettenmaier flipped over {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for a full house, and Hirleman tapped the table before mucking his hand. After that pot, Rettenmaier is up to 330,000.
